Ohlins on a Sagaris??????
Discussion
Ok Lads
I want to get rid of my Nitrons that I currently have on the Sag, as I want to treat myself to some single or 2 way adjustable Ohlins.
Can anyone who has the above shocks and springs on a Sag please help with some feedback please. I have read many positive reviews about these shocks on other TVR'S with them on, but do not know of any Sag's with them on.
Any help would be much welcome.
Cheers
ps. My Nitrons will be up for sale by the way, in perfect, perfect working order and excellent condition.

Given Ohlins reputation and the cost it will either be exactly the same, given most shocks are there or there abouts unless your buying crap or somewhat better I would say. It's all about the setup, given how many posts there are from owners all with the same shocks with different experiences
Did you book Chanteloup?

Did you book Chanteloup?
All booked up Steve, but looking at what happens to peoples cars on the Mad Friday, I am wondering wether I have made a good choice.
Back on the subject, the Ohlins I am looking at are between 3-5k, so they want to be miles better than your average Nitrons. People who I have spoken to who have them on their Cerbs, say that the difference is Night & Day!!
However I truly am interested in Ohlins on Sag's ONLY as post states, before I part with this sort of money.

There is no Mad Friday at the Classic mate
it's chilled out
Pistonheads meet Friday which is pretty good
Night and day will mostly be down to setup tbh. You can put great shocks on a car and they feel like crap if not setup well and vice versa
You got your pink and black outfit?
Have to check...I think I'm booked into Chanteloup also....se you there...!...have to get the pink and black thing...

Don't do it. I had them on my t350 and had problems with reliability and with support from Ohlins. Talk to Martin at Bespoke Performance for an independent view as he knows the history. I would not fit them again.
So that is the polar opposite to my experience. Been on the car c10 years and in the 4+ years of my ownership, have been completely problem free. And by a number of peoples accounts, one of the best handling T350s set up for road use.
Without sounding critical, talking to someone from a company with a potential interest in alternative products isn't necessarily an independent view.
OP - sorry to hijack the thread, especially as you stated it was Sag specific, but feel free to come and drive mine for an idea.

Let's just say that the final two shocks failed just after the car was sold to the new owner and it cost Bespoke money , as the first two cost me.
When working they are excellent, when they fail my experience is you are on your own. Not impressed.

I have had Ohlins on my Sagaris for 6 years. Had some minor issues when first setting up but Ohlins were very helpful. Since then all fine.I remember at the time thinking what a change from the originals, but not having ever used Nitrons on it I can't do a comparison to them. However the car handles extremely well on the track. Possibly would be seen as not a road set up but for track use perfect and easy to adjust. I agree with ShiDevil re the set up, it took quite a lot of 3 lap runs to get an understanding of how to optimise them, But we also altered the spring ratings significantly as well. I had a lot of input from Colin who used to work at Dulfords. In summary I didn't go wrong in choosing Ohlins but a bit of work on set will be needed but worth it.
If you do go for ohlins be careful who you use to rebuild them. After three rebuilds to cure leaks that kept coming back BG Motorsport at Silverstone were the people to actually get them rebuilt and stay dry on a customers car i had once.
I'm not a big fan, but I admit my experience is limited, maybe unlucky.
