Quick Q. How does one go about putting the black area on the outside of replacement headlight covers for a T350? Looking at various suppliers, all the covers are clear but the ones they replace have a black area around the outside? Do you just paint it on? Is there a special technique?

All masked and painted. Need to use a primer that will bond to the plastic otherwise it lifts and looks bobbins

I used the proper sikaflex primer this time and it hasn't peeled away like the last paint I used.

Is it tricky to get the shape right, any tips?

Not if you use proper automotive masking tape that bends where needed and gives a clean edge when you remove it
