Hi all

Last weekend I managed to foul up the cigarette lighter in the Tam and the components have dropped back through the centre tunnel.
I have screwed off the gear knob and free'd up the hand break to gain access to the lighter assembly, from here I'm slightly clueless really.
The first pic shows the wire assembly and lighter housing. I assume the yellow female plugs to the middle male or centre connection?
What I'm not sure about is where the red/white connectors and housing fits in. Is this relevant to the lighter at all? I cannot see an obvious place for it.

I usually plug my Optimate accumate charger into the cigarette lighter to keep the condition well as I only use the car at weekends at best.

Fast forward to this weekend and no response from the alarm, no access to the car. That part at least was resolved with the help of LaserTam.
Have I managed to blow something by fiddling around with the cigarette lighter? I haven't actually checked the fuses yet (I actually didn't know where they are, but I do now), I have only assumed the battery has drained, although one week without charge shouldn't kill it surely?!

There is a second part to the post relating to the last two pics.
Assuming the battery is indeed dead, what are my options to connect and charge the battery other than the cigarette lighter?

Is the highlighted 'plug' within the passenger's footwell anything to do with the battery?
Under the wheel arch I have found the Anderson connecter. Are there leads out there I can use this to connect via my accumate charger, instead for example, going through the cigarette lighter?

Maybe a fuse has gone and I should be checking this first!
Any help welcome.

Check fuse number 11 - Cigar Lighter (rear fog/boot solenoid/boot light) a 20A blade fuse - fuse box above drivers knees under dash?

Ignore any plugs on passenger side, they will not charge your battery

Reconnect yellow to centre of cigar lighter - the red/white/other connector is for illumination!

You need to buy the following to use the Anderson connector - http://leventechnology.co.uk/products/accumate-und...

Make sure the Anderson socket is clean & serviceable - they can get cracked and even short, starting a fire.......you really need to take the front left wheel off, remove the battery cover and inspect the connections - better still, get a "Dealer" to check (like TVR Power etc??)

Hope some of that helps?

Get yourself the Handbook, which should have come with the Tam? It has all the fuse info?

Thanks Trevor.
Fuse is fine so I've reconnected the cigarette lighter assembly and accumate. I'll check in a few days if the battery is fine or dead then go from there.
