Well Privilege are their sister company and they don't have a problem with mine. think you might just have fallen on a less than helpful assistant. Anyway I was told by a privilege clerk that in all cases they will be cheaper than DL because that's the way they are structured but you won't get 'added value' stuff like breakdown and courtesy car. Why don't you give them a try?
Very many thanks chaps-posted in anger, never a good idea.
So you get some benefit my learns are
The Direct line database does NOT register TVR as fitting an approved alarm/imobiliser.
I spoke to a supervisor at DL tonight who confirmed this is the case.
I need to have sent to them a confirmation by TVR or my dealer TVR Barnet that an imobiliser has been fitted for my cover to be in operation. If an approved system is fitted and anything happens before they receive confirmation I "should" be covered.
DL have been fair in that they sent me a letter alerting me to the prolem-but their database is not accurate so for your own sake check.
Sorry to have posted when over excited...!

Im with them, all you do is sent the std TVR letter about the alarm being fitted to all post 99 TVR and then you get a letter back from DL to say you are now covered. A bit of hassel, but you get the same from Tesco who also use the same 'database'
Mr F
I think you'll find the T350 is a meta M99T2 alarm system.
The alarm is 2 units linked together The m99T2 alarm control unit with battery backed siren and M36T2 immobiliser. It uses M23T2 microwave sensors.
Cat 1 ??? Well maybe not.
The M99T2 and M36T2 are cat 1 approved if fitted by a Thatcham approved installer which TVR are not.

Many thanks Nick- the detail is helpful.
Mr Freefall I reported the event because it was a suprise to me that DL insisted at supervisor level ,and they checked with their technical staf, that TVR fitted no alarm immobiliser at all-surely this is incorrect?
Just wanted to make sure that anyone with a TIV was aware as it took me by suprise. If its been standard since 1999 surely they would have corrected their database after 7 years? Maybe I deal with too many lawyers in my day to day workload.

Sorry guys, asked this question on another thread also....but does anyone have a scanned copy of the document they can forward to me???
I'm having the same issue with DL and my T350T. My email address is:

Cheers
Mark
A scanned copy was posted recently.
I don't have a scanner so, no can do.
Have a search around.
Hi,
Just in case others need the letter, here's the link again:
This satisfied Direct Line for me last year on 2003 TVR T350C. I had heard they required trackers for vehicles over 40k in value.
As others have suggested, I would try Privilege ahead of DL. I've just switched to them and saved over 300GBP on the DL renewal quote. And the same letter satisfied Privilege and no tracker required.
