Sagaris Colours
Discussion
When I started spec’ing mine I was thinking of exactly the same two colours because that’s what the dealer had in their standard colour folder. But with a TVR you can have any colour you like.
What you need to do is find your local friendly Chipsaway franchise and borrow their spare colour sample folders for a few days. That’ll give you over 5,000 colours to choose from. You’ll find there are many more interesting options than Moonraker and Starmist (although they’re both good colours).
It took me a few days to get a shortlist together. Then I asked Chipsaway to spray samples onto some old foam-backed mousemats for me. That way you get a nice big 10” x 8” sample which you can safely bend on/around different parts of a real car to see how it looks and how the light will refract. It’s much better than trying to choose from a 6” square bit of sprayed cardboard in a showroom.
Anyway, good luck. And if it had to be one of those two, I’d go for Starmist.

Thanks TSS, some very sound advice... I have been thinking about it for a while, I have seen the Sagaris in Black, and no doubt it looked great, my initial fear was that black would not show the lines of the car and hide the detailing on the body, but that wasn't really the case, however it did make the car look smaller than it actually is, it just didn't have the presence I thought it would. I also considered nebula black, but realised I would look like a disco ball, and the sagaris demands enough attention as it is!
I think I prefer the starmist grey also, just out of curiosity why did you suggest the starmist? And which colour did you decide on for yours?
Thanks again...

I suggested Starmist for exactly the same reasons you mention about black. I originally wanted black, but it makes the car look a lot smaller. I agree that it doesn’t hide the lines of the car too much, but I think it does a little compared with other colours.
In the end I went for Lamborghini Grigio Avlon. It’s a darker grey than iced titanium but has a very, very slight hint of blue in it.

Is it wright that you can have any colour you want?
I know of 2 colours that they have stopped offering, Crystal Topaz blue and Halcon Midas yellow??
Is there a reason why they don't offer these colours any longer?
Hilti.
IIRC it's the difficulty of achieving a high enough standard of finish across the whole car with those colours. Nightfire Red was replaced for a similar reason (maybe it faded too quickly?) - again IIRC some cars were resprayed in the updated colour. Likewise there are some mental 'Candy' colours used on bikes that just aren't suitable for application to cars, which is a shame.
TVR aren't doing any more cars in lambo orange (as HL Gorners car) either.
Was told it was to do with it being a 3-stage paint, and therefore a nightmare to match if required.
However, I suppose if you're willing to take the chance that in the event of a minor scratch you may have to respray the whole car, then I suspect they will do it any colour you want.

Was thinking of GTS Blue Pearl with athracite wheels. Could that work? I've discounted black and grey (and red) colours after a long hard think and also chameleon. I also toiled with the Nebula black argument and decided it might look a bit OTT. Reflex charcoal sounds rather nice, though it adds even more to the price.
Also, Spectraflair - have seen it in Silver & Topaz - can that effect be applied to other colours - e.g. GTS Blue?...
