Sports Exhausts

Desolate,
You must be psychic - I was literally about to post exactly the same topic!
Can the TVR power exhaust be fitted at a dealer or do you have to take it to TVR Power themselves?
(Slight hijack) - Does the exhaust make the car unbearably loud on the m/way?
Your dealer can fit it, TVR Power can fit it, or you can fit it yourself in about 45 mins - and that includes time to eat a pizza.
It is louder on the motorway, but you'll be deaf with a massive smile on your face. Maxing it out of the services down the slip-road onto the motorway provides a most pleasureable aural experience.
I had a sports exhaust system made and fitted by Peninsula for around £500, and i am very pleased with it.
Regarding the noise in the cabin, yes it gets a little bit much on a long journey!! but it was well worth every penny.
You don't have to have it fitted by a dealer or the factory, as i had to adjust mine once or twice, as it was hitting the edge of the hole on the body, i have 100mm tail pipes you see!!
The only problem i had was getting the bolts back in the right whole on the body molding, infact 3 of the bolts had no hold at all, so i fixed it back on in new places, using massive size 14 self tappers.
I did the whole job in under an hour.

Sorry Hilti - I get you now.
Have to catch up with you another time to hear the exhausts then!
I had mine done at CN's. It was made by ACT Products who I think also make them for TVR Power - although I may be wrong. I believe that the TVR Power version does not impact any remaining warranty you have given that it is effectively a factory fit whereas there is no such benefit with dealer fit exhausts.
You have heard mine and so you know that it does what it says on the tin.
Nick,
I use 2 ton trolly jack from mi Landy, fits under Tam out riggers ok. Make sure you place the cup of the trolley jack under the triangulated area and i also use a piece of wood in between to protect the chasis powder coat.
Though you won't need a trolly jack to change the exhaust, suggest you back it onto some ramps?

To be honest sports exhaust and french 98 octane petrol is unbelievable. Just got back from a 600 mile blast over the weekend and boy is it loud on the french juice!
How do you travel to france - ferry or shuttle? was thinking about doing this soon but was worried about how the clearance is on both???
