Sports Exhausts and Trackdays!!!
Discussion
I have a TVR Power sports exhaust fitted to my Tam and intend to do the Castle Combe track day. Castle Combe has a 100 db limit and I am pretty sure the Tam won't pass that!
My question is should I invest in some sort of extra soundproofing (e.g the ACT add ons) or just put my standard exhaust back on. If I do put the standard one back on will it pass - what db's are the standard cars putting out? Will the ACT add ons fit the TVR power exhaust?

Am getting more & more tempted to change to one or a Cerb (had a £200 cheaper quote on a 4.5 than on the Chim!?!?)& seen a Tam at a good price.. I just like that V8 burble though...
Hope all is well down south!

T350 was measured @97.3 last year at Combe then 104@ Oulton. Combe tested @4500rpm and Oulton @5500rpm.
Two things.. firstly, you can tell them your rev limit is 1000 lower than what it really is. I always do this in whatever car i've been in, no problems with them questioning it ever. I've only got a standard exhaust anyway, so chances are it'd be fine.
Next, many tracks will rent you a nasty looking silencer that sticks out a mile and goes over the end of your pipe(s). Looks terrible, but you'll get through the noise test.

Be aware that most sports systems have a rolled edge on the tail pipe so you can't fit additional cans, the safest bet is to re-fit the original system, which i guess if in good condition would bring it down to the required level of 100 dba, especially as it's so easy to refit, although it pains me to turn business away
