Hi Guys,

I wonder if anyone can help?

I’ve got a problem with the LCD on my dash.
The display has gone very dim and you can hardly see it.
It is functioning fine but it looks like the “Back Light” had gone.

It was fine all day the other day until I had to drive home in the dark.
I turned the ignition on and the LCD lit up as normal, when I switched the lights on the LCD dimmed and wend dark. I presumed all would be ok when I got in and switched off and on, but no joy.
The next night I fired the car up and the LCD was fine but as soon as I put the lights on it dimmed and went blank.

Now it will not light up at all, I can just about see it in the sunlight with the brightness and contrast turned up to 100%.

I’ve checked all the fuses and all seems fine.
I’m on version 6.1 of the software (or is it 6.0 ?)

Any ideas?

Alternatively, does anyone know how to get the dash pod out so that I can take a look myself? I work in IT so am very used to delving inside PC’s

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Nick

Hi Guys,

I presume by the lack of replies no one knows a lot about the Dash LCD back light.

Although it looks like Nickfb1 replied but I can’t see it.

In the mean time I’ve been onto the factory and they say the dash pod needs to go back to them for repair. I’d like to avoid getting a dealer involved as that just takes time and money.

Can anyone explain how to remove and refit the dash pod so that I can ship it to the factory myself.

Cheers,
Nick

No, we just don't know how to fix it or we haven't had the problem (yet).

I think you need to remove the upper dash above the pod by undoing the bolts underneath the switches on the LH/RH sides. Then it looks like the dashpod can be persuaded out (not done this so only guessing).
