Both these cars have been knocking about in the classifieds for months without any success of a sale. I have called both the owners and they have both said that are open to offers after realising i am a serious buyer....

www.pistonheads.com/sales/detail.asp?i=40393&s=267
www.pistonheads.com/sales/detail.asp?i=39099&s=267

Now for me the colour combos are not 'ideal' and neither of them have Aircon, but i cant be too picky with my very limited budget(which has been upped a bit due to a good pe salary/bonus review which is due in 2 weeks).

So i have 3 questions:

1. Does anybody know about the history of either of these cars? Basically does anybody recognise either cropping up on here (or the like)? I would do a search, but it doesn't seem to be working and neiterh do the 'personal profile' sections.

2. Seeing as the owners are up for offers, what do you think a sensible offer might be for either? I can be very brazen when i want to be, but i dont want to offend the seller and he ends up not playing ball and being awkward.

3. Should i ignore these(and other) 'nearly' cars that are starting to appear and hold out for a colour combo that would be perfect for me, and pray that the price will be ok for my limited buget?!

I have never had this much dilema/trouble with buying a car!

cheers
Kevin

To be honest, I think the prices of both these two cars are amazing..... the colour combo's have been specced very nicely too...

Had to do adouble take on the red one - it has an almost identicle registration to mine...!!!

If it was me Id wait for a car that felt just right (thats what I did) - and I saw plenty (and nearly bought them too, so impatient). You'll know it when you see / drive it. If the colour combos aren't quite right for you now, that feeling will just grow IMHO.

And please please consider getting aircon.

Im currently in a courtesy T350T whilst mine is having some paint work done and the aircon is non existant. For me it makes the car less usable (demisting is great with aircon) and much less comfortable, cant imagine how it would be in the summer, hot I imagine.

good luck.

What colour are you after?

If you're gonna spend £30k on a car, I would wait till the right one for you comes up.

Would you consider a T350C? I am sure you have seen it as its been there a while as well but:

www.pistonheads.com/sales/detail.asp?i=36089&s=267

Has aircon and 12 months warranty for same money as the Targas you like.....

I agree that both cars are well priced - they're not worth less. Both are lovely colours and the interiors nicely compliment the exteriors. IMHO You'll definitely need aircon in the red one with a black interior - scorchio.

What colour are you after? Blue? There were quite a few early Coupes in Red Bull and Laser blue for sale when I was looking a year ago. Or are you just after a targa now?

I'd hold out if you're not happy.

Thanks for the replies so far guys.

I'm not after any colour in specific, its got to 'float my boat' though. The interior must preferably be light (not garish though!), however i know with my budget, i can't afford to be too choosy?

I have most defo decided on a Targa now as i have owned conv cars for 3 years now and cant imagine going back to a hard top again, especially with warm nights and days approaching.

I think you guys are right about the price though, however if they are willing to take offers, then i would be a fool not to try? I take your point about aircon though and i have to hold out unless a REAL bargain could be had, and then have it retrofitted.

So what i am looking for is a T350T, with Aircon, in a colour combo that 'floats my boat' and less than £30k. Not too hard i guess......

Hi Mate

This is going to sound VERY daft, but I am off work at home ill today where my only point of telephony at teh momment (untill Telewest decide to fix my sodding landline!) is my mobile. I however left my charger in work yesterday and the battery is now flat frown Is there any chance you could email me details of the car you have (or have access to)?

. smile

Cheers
Kevin

Kevin, I've also got a silver T350 up for sale which sounds within your budget. Doesn't have aircon though but price is flexible.
It's been up for sale for a while but there hasn't been any rush so it sits in the garage and gets taken out once a week. Car is for sale as its my fathers and he lives in Wales where Newtown motors are. They are no longer an official dealer so he decided to sell it and gave it to me as more likely to sell it down here (hmmm)
Anyway, car is on the for sale section based in Essex against my name, Ben Jones

Hi Ben

Thanks for the offer. I had seen yours and was considering it at one point. I however have decided to get a T instead of the C.

Good luck with the sale though

Kevin, no problem. That T350T does sound a bit of a bargain actually.
Hope you find the car you want! The other advice about building warranty into the cost is very sensible. Only had minor niggles with the T350 but I wouldn't personally buy one without a warranty...just for peace of mind. Bloke in shed in blackpool can't compare with group of brainwashed germans in Stuttgart...

Yup...but group of germans will create the boxster! A lovely car but doesn't exactly put a permagrin on my face.
Went to a wedding the other week and missus drove me there and back in the T350. She was most happy to sit on billericay highstreet (cashpoint)......every person walked past and gave it the look back...EVERY person...
