Hi all!
Has anybody fitted the One with Trumpets? Is There a noticeable difference to the Standard one?

Cheers josef

I fitted one but unfortunately only during an engine rebuild/full restoration. I hadn’t driven the car beforehand so can’t comment on performance. The aesthetics side though is superb in my eyes.

£140. According to the lovely wife.

Just under a grand from Powers in truth. Very nice though.

I believe the ACT one I bought is only available through Powers. It has trumpets but individual silicone pipes rather than the moulded as shown in the link above. All nice stainless goodies fitted too. Roughly same costs either way.

I got my ACT Airbox with trumpets , in for a penny in for £1000 . Doubtful it made any performance improvement . But I would recommend changing the clips on all Airboxes (old and new) , so they're bolted and lock-tight rather than pop rivets which have a tendency to break off inside your air box . If I remember correctly I also drilled a half inch hole to match the original to prevent a vacuum and water being sucked up from the air intake and hydraulic lock.

If you have "good" (not melted/warped/cracked) original , the cheap option is get it carbon hydrographically dipped for £75 … can you tell the difference .. this was my Sags dipped

Does it change the sound of the engine at all by removing the resonator?

For me there has been no difference in sound or performance, but it looks bloody good!

I have the Powers carbon box on my Tuscan. The original was cracked on cylinder 6 intake. I had it put on at the same time as an engine rebuild/upgrade so don’t really know whether it contributes to any power increases. It does look great though, but I rarely see it as I haven’t got around to doing a bonnet conversion yet!

Dom definitely has a Concept Performance airbox on his own Sagaris though does he not?

I have the ACT version with the trumpets. I thought there was supposed to be a small power gain but I wouldn't know for sure.

I had the concept performance airbox on my Sagaris. Brendan does several options all of which include a front air pipe that takes a feed from the front of the car for additional cooling. I believe Brendan’s box comes with an optional jools remap and they have tested for performance increases and modelled different airbox sizes for different results.

The quality is superb.

I’ve got the act one on my T350 and it’s great but I would have Brendan’s in future if I had option again as the brackets are also better and the front air feed provides the potential for more cooling/power.
