Glad to say that recently took delivery of shiny new T350 here in Sunny RSA. Traded in my trusty Chim 500 to possess my new baby.

2 weeks later and she is nicely run in and having much fun.

Must say I do miss the low down grunt of the Chim but once passed 5000RPM - WOW!

Couple of niggles - maybe someone can help.

1. The motor stalls very easily on take off unless I keep the revs well up - is this normal or does the car need some fine tuning? Please note that we run on crappy 93 octane fuel over here and suffer from high altitude sickness - this may have something to do with it.

2. When both drivers and passenger windows are fully closed they "creak" a lot, seems they touch the inside of the roof enclosure, is this a common problem and again does anyone have a fix for this - I thought of installing some kind of thin rubber strip to insulate the window top from the roof enclosure - anyone tried this and does it work?

3. What's with the speedo - OK upto 120kmh and then it goes erratic and at 180kmh completely dies until you drop the speed - I assume this must be a common fault on all new T350's - what's the fix?

4. Very occasionally the LCD display blacks out momentarily, then comes back OK, this only seems to happen when the motor is very hot - coincidence or has anyone else experienced this problem?

Otherwise car going well and very happy.

Your thoughts, advice and comments will be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Congrats - I met the guys form the dealership last year at the UK Motor Show. Then flew out to SA and saw all those TVR friendly roads!!

Do you know when your car was actually built as there have been a few changes with windows etc.

Hi Rich,

So, you have been priveliged to ride on SA's magnificent (NOT!) pothole free roads I see - ha ha.

Actually I don't know when the car was built and the dealers are less than knowledegable on the subject.

I know the vehicle came in around February of this year - but as to when it was assembled - your guess is as good as mine.

Maybe I should contact the factory direct - any idea what course I should take for this?

There have been various mods done to windows etc so the best way to see when built is through the chhassi number - the last 8 digits should be enough to track down build details.

I would guess tehre are one or two things different for the SA market.

Drop an email to the factory in the first place via tvr.co.uk

Hope this is of help.

Off to dive TVRs in Canada now be back soon!!
