Hello everyone

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum.
Bought a 2003 Tamora a couple of months ago and should be taking delivery of it at the end of this week (I hope).
It has a brand new 2005 spec interior, which TVR have been fitting for the past six weeks or so. They quoted 7 to 10 working days, but it has slipped somewhat...the waiting is very frustrating.
Spotted a blue Tamora on the way to work this morning and wished I was in mine!

Thanks for the welcome Mike.
Halycon Midas Pearl, with Prussian Blue leather with Aztec Yellow leather inserts!!! Not to everyones taste I know, but I love it.
It has the black stripes on the bonnet too, which I think look really good on yellow Tamoras. Looks like a giant wasp.
No other extras to talk of...
I had it for the weekend before it went into the factory for the re-trim. Unfortunately it was a bit of a nightmare. Severe shaking when going over 75mph (that's the car, not me), and bad wind noise (again, the car). Ride was also VERY hard and not even the smallest bumps were being absorbed at any speed. I am not kidding, I had a headache for several weeks after the experience. Dealer should be sorting all this out hopefully.
How should Tamora suspension be on average country roads? For example around the Lake District? It shouldn't make your brain rattle around in your head...should it?

Hi Mike, congrats and welcolme
, Your Tam sounds fantastic, and bet it looks the bees knees in that colour config.
The Tam ride, like all good sportscars, is on the hard side, but I have never found it uncomfortable, I use it most days to get to and from work, and have to drive down some very narrow country lanes, never once a prob
Oh yes, it may be woth you registering on here;

ChrisThanks Chris, and Hello. Yep, I know the ride needs to be firm, but not that firm! I really did have a headache that lasted for weeks. That can't be right.
Just hope all is fixed and I get it back this week. If I hear one more excuse followed by "it will be ready in one more week" then I may explode.
YP, I guess you are into yellow then? LOL. Very nice Sagaris!!! Thanks for the welcome. Will post pics ASAP (presuming I actually get the car that is).

There must be something wrong with the suspension - IMO it is quite a comfy ride on all but the most awful of surfaces. I actually find our Audi TT less comfortable on some local bumpy roads (i.e. roads I drive a lot in both cars so can compare).
BTW - check you're running at 24psi. Most unknowledgeable garages stick 30ish in and that would both ruin the ride and the handling.

Thanks matey. That's a really BIG relief. As comfy as an Audi TT would do me fine.
Never owned a TVR before. After a weekend with the car, I was worried that I might have bought a car that was far more hard core that I had bargained for.
Will also check the tyre pressures thank you.
BTW, where did you take that pic of your T350?

Hi Mike, and congratulations on the purchase.
I'd be interested to know what the shaking you experienced was caused by, as mine has a similar problem at 95-110mph, and I can't fathom it out. I'm wondering about warped brake discs but it doesn't happen on braking - I know it sounds like wheel balance but i've had the fronts balanced several times, and it's still the same.
BTW, I know your part of the world very well. I worked at Royal Preston and Sharoe Green hospitals, and lived on Billinge End road in Blackburn for a few years. Nice part of the world!

Hi Mike, welcome to the family! I also have a halcyon midas pearl Tamora and live between Preston and Blackpool. Nice to know the local Tamora population is increasing!
Are you coming to the Blackpool TVRCC meet this Wednesday evening in Blackpool? I'll be there, hopefully in the Tamora (long story).

Wow. Thanks to all for your comments.
Nubbin, I will let you all know what the shaking was, presuming the dealer actually finds out and fixes it!
My girlfriend works at RPH as a medical secretary. She has only been there for a month though so you won't know her.
Dicky, I haven't even driven mine yet with the roof off. I only had it for the weekend and it rained. I tried taking the roof off in my garage just for fun but I couldn't get it into the boot. ha ha. What a noobie!
Maddog, don't know if they still do that colour on new Tams. Mine is not new - it's a 2003 model. I'm just having a new 2005 spec interior fitted.
Julian, I have never spotted you before. Suprising since I have been working in St.Annes for the last 4 years. Can't make the TVCC on Wednesday, but thanks LOADS for the invite. Don't I have to be a member or something? I will definitely come in the future. Hopefully turning up in a Tamora!!!
Cheers all,
Mike

Just come along to a couple of meets and decide whether or not you want to join - however, I've never actually been asked if I'm a member! (IMHO I think it's worth it, just for the monthly Sprint magazine). John, the Blackpool RO, works at the factory so we usually get a first hand perspective of life at the factory. He's also one of the nicest and most helpful guys you will meet.
On 4/5 June one of the annual Tatton Park Classic and Sports car shows is taking place - there will be a shedload of TVRs at the show, mine included on the Saturday.
That'll be a great opportunity to meet the local (Blackpool, West Lancs, Cheshire et al) TVR community if you can make it! In fact, if you're available, given that in the last couple of years mine has been the only Tamora there, you may even be able to get a free ticket to add your Tamora to the TVRs on show! Email me offline if you're interested. Hopefully meet you soon!

I've finally
got my Tamora back from the TVR factory with it's newly fitted interior. Apart from a few cosmetic niggles I am very happy.
Most importantly the dealer has fixed the vibration problem. It was rear wheels out of balance. It drives very smoothly now on the motorway at all speeds.
Drove it for the first time today with the roof off.
Fantastic.
I'm currently trying to master getting the roof in and out of the boot. I've seen all the previous posts on this subject so I know what I need to do.
Thanks All.
