Has anyone done a mod on an early T350c to help keep the luggage held in place?

I am picking my T350c up tomorrow evening (early 2003 without the luggage cover) and will be going to Le Mans in it in a few weeks. I'm not too fussed about hiding the luggage under a cover, I'm more concerned about the luggage flying about in the back.

I've heard something about screwing hooks into the interior and then using some kind of BMW 5 series luggage net which will go over the luggage and hook onto these added hooks. Has anyone seen this kind of mod or attempted it themselves?

Thanks

I have heard that when you retro fit the luggage cover from later cars that the carpet is left a little short due to the removal of the plastic curved parts behind the seats?

Looking at the standard luggage cover it looks fine for a little bit of luggage in the boot, but probably not great when you have a load of stuff in the boot? I can't imagine I would ever have much more than a large sports bag in the boot under normal conditions but Le Mans is slightly different!

Any tips on packing a lot of stuff in the T350? (Other than don't bother )

No tips as such, but I can say I have suprised myself in the past and managed to transport a hell of a lot in it! I do find it extremely practical (well, for my needs anyway... )

Had my luggage cover retro fitted at the factory and it's perfect.

As for packing a lot of stuff, take a woman with you, she'll manage to fill the boot and still have stuff left over for the footwell.

I had the luggage cover retrofitted a the factory to an '03 T350 - organisaed by the dealer I bought the car from. I took about 1hour and cost £250 if I recall rightly. Looks professional and works fine.

I will ask my dealer (Dream Machines) about it and see what they could get it done for.

I'm guessing with the luggage cover in place or with any amount of luggage in the back you may as well forget about the stereo?

Hi Nick,
firstly congratulations on a good choice of TVR model.
Regarding things rolling around in your boot when going to LeMans, it won't happen mate!!!
Coz if your other half packs as much as my Missus did in ours last year for LeMans, the luggage ain't going no where, believe me!!!
See you there, and enjoy the T350 as much as we have over the last two years.
Check out our car in my profile.
Dave
PS. also regarding the Stereo, i guess that you only have speakers in the back (bloody stupid idea if you ask me!!) so i fitted speakers in the doors, now its ok to have a full boot.If you remove the radio, you will see on the loom that the wires are there for two more speakers, so its easy to do, apart from the little bit of panic, when you take a jigsaw to your pride and joy for the first time, but you will have to remove the door cards to do this.

The cargo net is one from BMW! Works a treat.

Do you have any more details on this, or some photos? It sounds pretty much the same as the mod that Ben from Dream Machines told me about with the BMW cargo net.

Carefull where you drill in the boot, as the fuel tank is very close to the boot floor.
