Paul, REALLY sorry to hear that mate Must be gutting to say the least!!!!!
I would INSIST on a brand new engine this time, that's the least they can do for you considering the warranty work you've already had done, and it's not your fault!
Hope it's sorted quickly and painlessly for you

Darkside? So you're realling thinking of getting a Daihatsu?

Or a Matiz!

Please persevere Paul , personally, the 'Dark Side' wouldn't be dark enough, when I think about the overall package that is the TVR 'experience' (assuming all's ok once and for all!!) far outweighs what others can give you. The only cars to come close to this experience are cars costing twice as much as the TVR. I went to pick my son up yesterday, and I swear I seen more Porkers (mostly Boxsters) than MGs and MX5s put together!
Cold comfort for you now, I know, with your P&J spilling it's guts on your garage floor, I just hope this is a wake up call for your dealer and TVR to get it fixed properly once and for all!

Although I've always had a soft spot for the VX220 Turbo!

having been there it is not fun, and we threatened to drive the car( if was able to be driven!!)through the forecourt window. It is so frustrating when it happens, try and stay with it but I would understand totally if you handed in the towel. It is not fair and not right that you spend all that money on something which fails so dramitrically when you need it most.

easy to say but keep smiling...........some how!!

Hard luck mate - hope it's nothing too serious (although it doesn't sound good).

What is the mileage of your car? I can't be very high looking at your profile.

At least its covered by warranty.

Sounds like a lemon to me. If it's had 3 failures in a short space of time since purchase, reject it as unfit for purpose. Get your money back, go elsewhere, get a car you can drive every day and enjoy every day. May not be quite as extreme as a TVR, but will be a lot less frustrating.

Sorry, new to this.

Sounds like you are in a position to demand a new engine, at least. Also take it to the dealer and ask for a car for le mans, they should be able to sort this through TVR. Just go in with the same attidude you would if you had purchased a Merc or BMW, TVR need to sort their quality issues out.

If you require any Warranty info PM me. I am a Warranty Manager, in the Aerospace industry but its all the same.

Regards

Nick

There are a lot more people on here who are very saisfied with their cars, than are discontented. It is a VERY normal reaction to say "That's enough, I'm off" - I have felt that way many times, but in reality if you get a good TVR, it is no more problematical than any other high performance sports car.

I would agree that teh time has come to invoke the Sale of Goods Act and get a relacement - with the new TVR 3 year warranty, you should have a brighter experience next time.

The car has only done 7000 miles and is only 6 months old, so I just missed out on the new 3year warranty. The dealer has been brilliant and very helpful so this is not a dealer issue but the car been back five times for niggles and was suppossed to go back again at the end of June because the air con does'nt work , appartenly theres a software problem with the ecu and it needs to go back to the factory.
Its a shame because I DO NOT what to be one of those TVR bashers Ive always liked TVR and refuse to take the Porsche or BMW route.
Its just so Frustrating
