(Sorry if this turns up twice, I thought I'd posted it a few minutes ago but seems not to have appeared.)

I'm having satnav fitted to my T350 and the guy doing the install cant find a speed pulse. He's tried ringing TVR dealers and the factory to no avail. Wondered if anyone here could help? It sounds to me like he needs very simple instructions.

Thanks in advance.

When I had my satnav installed, the car audio place that installed it found the speed sensor ok! Not sure where it is though (the speed sensor), so it must be 'findable', tell 'em to look harder! lol

Yes it is on the diff - quite easy to spot too. Maybe they can't get the signal they need from it or something??

The speed sensor can be found behind the passenger
side rear light cluster. Take the inside inspection panel off and put your hand down towards the well of the car. There is a two wire plug down there. I cant remember the
colours but I think its grey and something. Anyway its one of those two.

It took me ages to find that on mine.

Thanks for the replies. I called warren at topcats who told me the same thing. But he also said dont let the numpty touch it, if the speedo fails you'll end up paying for it.

So I had it installed without the speed pulse and it's working fine but I'll get topcats to complete the installation next time they service the car.

It's a pioneer avi-x1r by the way, not a garmin.

I had a satnav installed on one of my Cerberas and connected to the speed pulse. Unfortunately, the speedo didn't work until I was doing 8-10 mph which then regularly confused the satnav head unit and if I was crawling along in town, meant I sometimes missed a turning. (In my case - Blaupunkt - the satnav checked with the satalites every 30 seconds and used the speed pulse between the checks to work out how far it had gone.)

I still have the satnav and was thinking of fitting it in my T350.

Anybody else had this problem? Also has anybody got satnav on their mobile phone yet and how good is it?

My Pioneer sat nav unit does not work well in my T350. It keeps loosing its way and then re routing. This could very well be down to a speed pulse lack of signal issue.

I will shortly dump it and get one of the new stand alone versions, garmin type.

I've got the Pioneer X-1 in my Tuscan. The speed input has been taken from the dash pod feed & it works pefectly. Only ever lost its way twice (both times in France when driving under power lines, sorted itself out in <30 secs).

This might be duff gen, but IIRC the speed signal from the diff sensor is fed thru an amplifier before it gets to the dash. Maybe if you take the feed directly from the sensor (before the amp) the signal isn't strong enough at low speed for the head unit to pick up?

I fitted my X1 myself and took the speed pulse
from one of the door control units in the centre
console(grey wire)and it works no problem.
You can check this in the 3D calibration menu where
it should give a visual and audible reading.
