Seeing as my new T350T wont have Xenons, and my past 4 cars have all had them, I presume i shall be needing to upgrade my front bulbs.

Has anybody here done it and if so what bulbs are best?

I want to get the maximum enhanced brightness whilst replicating the white/blue light a Xenon emits.

I've had a look on 'powerbulbs', but there are so many to choose from!

Help? :)

Hi Gary

Thanks for that, but after shelling out over £40k for the car, im a lilttle bit skint now, so i thought i might try and get away with a set of replacement bulbs for £30 max if thats possible?

Kevin.

Try the std lights first - IMO they work very well.

When do you collect?

I managed to get a glimpse of some 'standard' lights last night and TBH i wasn't that impressed.

I am therfore on the lookout again. Has anybody got any recommendations of what to get? Silver, blue, or what.... arrrgh the choice.

Also how easy are they to fit? I presume its a caswe of lifting the bonnet and getting in behind the front clam wing? (excuse my ignorance)

TIA
Kevin

They're a standard H something or other, H4 I think, but check first. Therefore there will be aftermarket options. The drivers' one is easy to change, lift the bonnet and 'go in' above the radiator. The passenger one is a b1tch, you have to remove the wheel and undo a panel in the wheelarch.

Did you just 'see' the lights or did you actually drive the car on an unlit road etc. at night?

I think they are H7(?) Trefor. It was a 04 plate T350C i saw going through London and the lights looked normal and not emmiting any 'white' to the road. I'm probably just being a bit spoilt from my previous cars in terms of Xenons projection, but i really like the 'white light' beam and how it lights the road/vision ahead, and after 5 years of driving with them, i dont really think i could go 'back' (so to speak). So i thought a £30 transplant should do the trick, but im not sure which ones are best for replicating Xenons and producing nice bright white light?

Ah, white light and seeing where you're going are two different things in my book. The T350 lights are good enough for me, if you want to upgrade then go for it (good luck with the passenger side hidey hole).

I put Phillips Silvervision in my A6, a little better visibility but not white light really. I'll look at the headlight bulbs on my T350 next time I'm in the garage (we're heading out to Jools Holland at Kew Gardens now).

Looks like you're in the minority

Silverstone did offer a headlight upgrade to Xenons at one point...

I used the ones shown in FAQ - 50% Brighter Osram Silver Star H7.

TO be honest I havent noticed an 'amazing difference', but it is better than the standard lamps... The again, I havent really done a great deal of propper night time driving to check them out properly...

Bulbs themselves were a doddle. although as mentioned above it involves removal of wheels and access covers..
