Ok Im thinking of upgrading the rear speaker in my car, Ive done a quick search through this forum and it seems that Infinity KAPPA-693.7i are a popular choice.
Before I take the plunge I have a few questions so would be grateful for the views of those that have taken the upgrade route.

1. As there is only one speaker fitted is there only one set of cables running to the boot ?

2. Is it worth also upgrading to an external amp.

3. While its being upgraded should I replace the rear single centre speaker with a subwoofer.

4. Any other recommendations regarding speaker or amp would be appreciated. :thumbup:

Hi Paul

You only have one speaker in the back??

I have just installed the Kappas;

Took bloody ages to to dut out a neat (much larger) oval hole in the bulkhead, but the speaker do sound a lot beefier than before. They came with their own crossovers, and was a doddle to set up, even for me!

When I am at full pelt, its still very hard to listen to the music though!, although I have the super sports exhaust, but any other time, its very good

Probably depends on yer budget. I went for a fairly serious approach to improving the sounds on my T350T, with an external amp, 10" sub and 4 x speakers (plus custom made surrounds). The audio can be heard at pretty much any speed! (but I don't have the sports exhaust)....

Nice setup !
interested in the design of the rear panel in your car - much smarter than mine.....?
I have a rather ugly boot lid lock top centre that sits as a seperate unit above a rather rattly (owners manual?) cubby hole with the std speakers either side?
Is this an older layout or did you have a custom installation ?
also looking at the kappas for my 350 - was there sufficeint space for them to fit ? i understand that they are quite deep.

The Speaker mounting was custom made. They removed the old carpetted panel (including the cubby hole) and made up the unit you can see in the picture. This allowed them to use some deep speakers as the new panel sits proud of the leather surround (rather than recessed with the original).
