Been put of a Tuscan by the stories of engine probs and I can't face the hassle / car off road so I'm considering a T350. Given that the T350 engine is a Speed 6 also should I expect the same problems with this or are the probs ironed out?
Also will the pace of the T350 be significantly different than the Chim 5.0?

Completely different drives - the T350 is a far better handler and does everything better except for the noise it makes. It still makes a great noise, just not a burbly V8.

The T350 is also about 1000% times safer in a crash than the Chimaera - one key reason I upgraded.

The engines do go pop sometimes, they're still Speed Sixes. Get as new a car as possible - there seem to be less problems with the 3.6 (T350/Tamora) engine and the later cars. You won't regret it, even if you need a £5k engine rebuild

Hmmm, that's about the same as a 3.6-4 litre upgrade at TVR Power

Although have to agree to comments above, make sure you read the "jittery at speed" thread in this forum - I am having major issues with my T350's handling characteristics at high speed and if other comments from T350 owners are anything to go by AND - if high speed driving is one of your pastimes be very, very sure you are comfortable with this issue before you buy - suggest you go for a blast in a demo unit before buying or raise the issue with a dealer.
"loaned" my old 500 the other day as mine went in for service - must say the I do miss the torque and "grunt" of the Chim - I found the Chim much more pleasant under normal driving conditions due to this characteristic - however under hard acceleration the T350 flies and does offer much better cornering - be aware that under hot conditions the glue of your upholstery starts coming apart - had to have virtually everything re-glued in mine using a better product. Also due to the low-profiles the ride is much firmer - MUCH! - I try to avoid poor road services due to this issue - nearly lost my breakfast the other day!
One thing you will perhaps find priceless is the envious looks and barrage of questions you will continually face - the T350 is a serious head-turner - and yes you will find yourself wandering into the garage late at night to admire the sexy curves.
Good luck with your deliberations.
