Have driven the Tam virtually every day for the past few months, and its just getting better all the time!
For those who keep them for the odd weekend, don't! They need to be driven, they'll reward you more!
I now even Purposely get the back out on nearly every turning (but thats no better than dancing in the mirror, singing to your favorite dodgy tune, thinking you look great, but really, you look like a twonk, but you don't care!!)
Its also funny observing how other drivers treat me when in the Tam, and when in the Clio! That diesel Golf always gets me up the hill when in the Clio, but, when I spy it in the Tam, Pah, 2nd gear, all the way up to 90, and show off supercar Golf eats my rubber!! lol

Oh dear, better start work!

I can also see why Sir is concerned about the cost of tyres..... "Another set of rears is it sir..?!"

Agree wholeheartedly on this subject. I've had a look at your profile and your mileage is similar to mine - 15k+. Mine seems to be getting better and better too.

On Saturday evening I had possibly the best drive I've ever had in it. It really was fantastic and at various points I was laughing out loud with the fun of it all.

On Sunday I went to see my parents and my father who is a mechanical engineer commented on how great the car sounded as I approached the house.

With all the high speed action this weekend, thoughts of expensive servicing and potentially dodgy engines were a million miles away. There's been a few worrying forums/threads about engines again recently. All I'd say for my 2p's worth is that our's is used a lot, the miles are piling on and the engine's not used a blob of oil for the last 1000 miles or so.

If anyone reads this thread who thinking of getting a Tamora (or any TVR, but I do love my Tam) - GO FOR IT.

I've got a service due - ooh, the expense! I need new tyres, MOT, new oil pressure sender (faulty one fitted after the old leaky one was replaced) tracking and geometry check, sort out why the steering is vibrating so much at 85-105 on the autobahns (despite repeated wheel balancing). Otherwise it jusyt keeps on getting better and beter. if the steering/tracking can be sorted, it will be a lot easier to drive!

Chaps,

Agree whole hartedly with you comments about useage.

After my engine rebuild earlier in the year i though sod it! why have the best part of £40ks worth of car sat in the garage when i could have a smile on my face using it. Also thought if the engine is going to go pop again then let it happen whilst still under warranty?

So what if it costs more in servicing and consumables, thats what the car is there for.

Had to go over to Shefield the other day to a meeting with some of the big wigs from one of our contractors, was raining and a bit grim for this time of year, but i decided to go in the Tam.

Turns out the CEO of this company was a petrol head as well, we hit it off straight away when he spotted the Tam.

Nice to think I'm not the only one , especially after all those depressing doom mungering threads, which, I have to say are as far removed from my own experience with the S6 cars as one could get!
I know there are loads of V8 die hards out there, who love the doom mungering, but truth is, we never have threads which state that huge Merc barges pulled away from us, even though our foot was to the floor, oh nooooo

I do need to sort out a trackday, we only live once, and I'd hate to be a 'what if' guy!

Completely agree about daily use. So far I have done 5k since March and it hasn't missed a beat.
The engine is really loosening up-just wonderful between 4 and 6K.
Drove back from Silverstone on Sunday by A and B roads-loads of fun round the twisties and some great sections where the roads were straight and there was no traffic where i could let it stretch its legs. Tiptoed through villages doing 30 in 1st( OK I could have used 2nd but....) and got lots of admiring looks and waves from the locals sitting outside pubs.
Tons of fun!

Good to hear there're more of you realising the Tamora's a fantastic daily-driver!

After 3.5 years I've just needed to use my TVR toolkit for the first time! The near-side windscreen wiper stopped in the up position. All it needed was resetting and tightening with the supplied allen key.

Cheers..... Andrew

Can I have a definative 'yes' or 'no' to the toolkit issue - should we all have one with our 'new' Tivvers? My dealer says they don't come with one! Anyone know who I could talk to at the factory to clarify?

I have one!!! But trust me, it's not worth the price, the tools are very Xmas crackerish, although it does have a few bulbs and fuses, but still not worth the extortionate cost of buying one.
(oh yes, everything falls out as soon as you open the box too!!!!)

Guys

I have to agree. Alas I can not drive mine every day, although after a near miss with a bomb on thursday I am pretty tempted.

I am at 8800 miles and exactly 12 months of ownership. Here are my views:

1) Its been the best 12 months of any car ownership I have had
2) There have only been 4 issues:

a) Faulty speed sensor
b) Faulty ECU
c) Faulty heat exchanger
d) faulty oil pressure sender

These sound major but were all fixed in hours.

The car has been very reliable, been driven in Snow, torrential rain and glorious sun shine.

3) It loves a long run and it enjoys being driven hard
4) The french love them
5) A super sports exchaust and tuscan s pipes are a must and having been on furball with 16 other tvr's and being collectively told I have the best sounding TVR ever I am quite chuffed!
6) Warming up properly (ie start and go at lest then 2500 rpm) and being cautious as you warm up is very important.
7) my car consumes very little oil 0.5l in the last 6000 miles
8) on the reims straight I reached a large 3 digit speed with the roof down verified by the gps and the 100% accurate speedo
9) It loves shell optimax and french fuel
10) Clean the alloys properly everytime
11) Check the tyre pressures every time
12) Wash with meguiars and polish with zymol!

Happy Tvr ing

Agree with the usage, I find getting up at 5 am on a Sunday and going out for a thrash the best time, nobody on the roads, no speed traps and no BIB. Get home for breakfast and then wash all the flies off.
I shouldn't worry about not getting a tool kit, I have one it is absolute rubbish, if you need tools get the best and see your local Snap On dealer, worth the extra ££.

So good to hear others having the same experience as I have had!!

Have had nothing but huge amounts of joy from my T350c, and the grin returns each weekend! Keep up the positive threads and lets drown out the ones that seem to live to moan (mainly those that are dream owners rather than actual!)
