2 simple (some may say dumb) questions

1. My car came on 28psi becasue thats what all cars that leave the dealers HAVE to be running on (so i was told), but some oo you guys say 24psi is best.
So two fold, is there any specific reason for this? and will running 24 make it a bit more softer ride(which would be nice)?
2. I have always used Optimax in my other performance cars, however the T350 handbook seems to suggest that 95 ron should be used and 98 ron should only be used for trackdays. Again, is there any particular reason for this? Does the S6 run better day to day on 95 ron? Or is it the case that 95 ron can be used if required, but it is better to use 98 (which is typical for most performance cars)?

The handbook definitely states 24 psi for the tyres (18"
, I have had my tyres at this pressure since I had the Tam without any handling problems whatsoever.
Regarding the Optimax and 95 ron, I have found little to no difference in performance whatsoever between them!

I use Optimax as the car can pink under heavy load on cheapo stuff (only had it once or twice, but then I've only put 95 in once or twice).
Tyres - well at 24psi my tyres are wearing perfectly and the car handles great. The Chimaera/Griffith had a recommended 22-24psi too (much lower than people expect). Maybe 28psi is fine, but 24psi is definitely fine too, with a softer ride. Why not try out 24 and see how you get on. Also, you car might be new but it wasn't built much later than mine - so if the factory changed suspension settings in the past few months yours probably won't have them (I don't think they have).

Picked up my new T350c from H L Gorners a fortnight ago. Tyres are at 24psi from dealer. They had filled her with Optimax and advised using super unleaded.
Had to put some normal stuff in once and it seemed OK but I am still running her in. 600 miles now and still grinning. At this rate I'll have to up the annual mileage on my insurance

Kevin - spend a tenner on a proper pressure gauge. Petrol station ones can be unreliable and with a car like this it is important to make sure you're even on the pressure front.
Question: Why do Peninsula or the factory say 28psi? Maybe that way more bits will fall off the car sooner than later so they can be stuck back on at the 1,000 mile service.
