Sagaris Sport Exhaust
Discussion
Well as I can't wait for anyone else to come up with a sports exhuast that looks ok and sounds good (missing my 350 noise...). I've decided to unpack the rear centre box and see what it sounds like...
That way I keep the standard look which I like and will hopefully open up the noise level a bit..
Will post later in the week when the work is done and let you all know what it sounds like or if I'm going to have to buy an new replacement box....lol
Anyone else done anything yet???

I've tried Blue Flame about 300 times. They never call me back and have the worst answerphone system in history. They don't deserve my business. If they can't be bothered to take my money I won't give it to them. TVR power say they're not using them any more either. They recommended the 'carbon can company' who seemed equally sleepy on the phone to me. Their line was 'yes we'll probably get round to doing a Sagaris system eventually'. None too impressive.
Personally I quite like the racing green look but wouldn't pay 800 sheets for no more noise. I don't like the look THAT much. I'm told that TVR isn't too happy with them over it either and doesn't want them to supply it.
Who knows maybe someday someone will be arsed? I think the standard pipes are too small in diameter and I don't much like the visible weld. Some of the bigger bore pipes in photos of earlier cars look better but I think they are sharknose exhausts made by, guess who? Blue flame...
Come on TVR power, pull your finger out!

You just sleeve the exhaust
Forgive my ignorance but what exactly does a sleeved exhaust consist of?

Good q PP, practically every TVR owner I have met either seems to have had this done, or is about to do it, but I don't know WTF they're talking about!

There seem to be a few different exhausts around for the Sagaris at the mo, or is it just the angle the photos are taken?

Just had a look at a piccy of ours and it's the same as all those other pics.

I guess with the exhausts being oval, they're just catching the light in different ways making them appear ever so slightly different (to me anyway
) Just need a picture of the awesome YP Sagaris to confirm though...

they are all standard cans but the orange one and the red one which are earlier spec. Gatwick TVR's demo car had these larger exhausts which don't have visible welds, before they put the newer slightly narrower (visibly weldy) customer exhausts on. I think the earlier ones look better but Gatwick TVR swapped theirs for the new style and they say they are better. I think the earlier ones are Blue Flame. See my thread above before you rush off to their website. The reflex charcoal car has standard exhausts just angled forwards to fill the space a bit better. Something that's being done to my car as we speak, hopefully!

Carbon Can Co "will" eventually get round to making some exhausts for the Sagaris, when you consider that 99.9% of our business is bike exhausts unlike Blueflame who are primarily a car company.
The one thing that's been holding us back from doing it is getting hold of some original exhausts to measure up, you won't believe how hard it is to get hold of a Sagaris for a couple of hours, and I live round the corner from the factory and know plenty of people who work there.
I've asked on the forum before if anyone will nip up to see us in their car, but no-one's ever bothered.
Come on everybody, first development set is always free, just like we do with the bikes.

I guess TVR aren't exactly supportive of another company making aftermarket exhausts and I guess it's easy to look at this thread and conclude there's not enough demand to bother with. But only you know the numbers and whether or not it'll be worthwhile. But all the while there's no aftermarket option your prospective customers are all having their cans 're-sleeved' and so probably won't bother doing it when your can comes out.
Didn't mean to bad mouth your company in any way but I speak as I find. If it was my exhaust company I'd have had one out a long time ago with removable baffles so the MOT won't be a problem in 3 years time.
Regarding getting hold of a Sagaris, you can hire them you know. And by the way the offer of the first 'development' system being free is a great idea if only more people knew about it. I'd be up for it myself if it weren't for living too far away. Good luck with the new system, I could well end up a customer after all!
Mr Pits, you obviously run your busines in a different manner to most people then ..
I would imagine the sagaris is a quite a small market, so your expectation for people to *jump to your command* seems just a tad over optimistic ..
much as you'd like to be, i'm sure you're not the number one priority to a company that's already very busy
Having seen CCC's excellent quality of work I'm sure that when they do get around to making some cans (and it sounds like it's actually the customers holding things up, not the other way around ... doh!) they'll be well worth the wait.

It's always the way... :sigh:
I've lent my Chimaera to companies to look at aftermarket equipment / measure it up... and I did it with the S too.
It's inconvienient - especially as the Chimaera is my only form of transport - so more often than not I end up handing around, giving up my own time.
Development bits often come at a cheaper price (due to the inconvienience etc) but it's not all fun and games. When you're testing prototypes for people you can end up going backwards and forwards time and time again, reviewing things and making comments.
Oh, and generally the only people to say thanks for your time are the company you're working with... everyone else just seems to assume that they magically appear overnight...
