Sagaris - first day, 400 miles in.

Wtf just happened?
First things first. The Sagaris in RC.
It doesnt stop traffic. No.

It has a father and his son stop refueling their car next to you just to chat with you and tell your car "looks the dogs man" at 7.30am.
It has family guys in renault Espaces on the M4 getting their wives to wind the window down, and yell how much? Give huge thumbs up and smiles.
It has guys in Citreon Saxos on the M4 giving you Mexican waves in their car.
It has blokes walking their dogs in service stations congregating round your car drooling more than their dogs.
It has cpls wandering upto the car and blatently looking it over and the woman saying "that looks beautiful."
and the best bit...
The look of delight, amazement and pleasure on the face of the mother in law :)
All of that in 1 day and the first 400miles. Not one bad reaction all day, every single one from youngish to middle age was positive and even the older folk stopped and stared and carried on staring. This is unlike anything Ive ever experienced in any other motor car. My gf and I are pretty quiet and relatively shy ppl, we dont like bling or that much attention. Today must have been the first time either of us has ever expressed a liking or understanding of privacy glass. *Everybody* stares at you, in the service stations, the street, car parks, ppl u pass on the M-way, ppl who pass you on the M-way. Drivers and passengers. To us it was disconcerting for quite a while, but you kinda get used to it and find something to do so you dont notice ppl staring.
Now here I admit, this was entirely my own naive fault. Having only ever run sportscars and roadsters, inc the Griff I didnt think the Sagaris was much different. Ive long thought the Griff the most eye-catching TVR shape and sound going, so it never occured to me the Sagaris would generate this much interest. Yes you get attention in the Griff. but it is relatively light. The Sagaris is constant.
For those considering a Sagaris, be under no illusion, if you are a shrinking violet, either learn to get used to it very fast, or cancel the order, or get tined/privacy glass. Course you may not be as dumb as me in the first place and have already realised this, but there you go.
Lastly. Forget anything I ever said about reservations with this car. I am 100% totally and utterly in love with it and addicted to it.

Well thats because I dont hang an ego up on a car or regard it as a "pride and joy". At the end of the day it is just a tool to use.
Welcome to our world DJC........
Perhaps you'll realise now why we fiercely defend our P & Js.........
The Sagaris is totally addictive....but then, we all think that, it doesn't matter what TVR we have.....
Just did a blat round our a neighbouring town.....so many dropped jaws I lost count....

You misunderstand YP, it is still just a car, it just happens to be the best one Ive driven and I think it is great. My gf however has no interest in cars and considers such things as the 'Gris a waste of money. She is of course entirely correct when I think about it logically and if we need the money for more important things, it will be sold without a second thought. Until then however, it is my illogical toy of choice.
