Week to the day since I picked her up.
Niggles? Steering wheel off centre. Thats it.

Buy one.
Ive managed to work out the air con just to check it works ok, but I never use it.
I find visibility is great, the rear hatch extremely useful and practical and I can get over most speed bumps.
In the RC it looks so damn attention grabbing that even if TVR reverted back to the old topless models routine I seriously suspect my attention would not be on the 36D's!
The car is that damn good. A legend has been well and trully born. If the Chimp was a Hurricane, the Griffith the Spitfire, the Sagaris is the English Electric Lightning. A Mach 2 Interceptor that scared the cr@p out of everything else in the sky.

I agree with all that, esp the visibility - another area TVR don't get enough credit. Try turning out of a sharp angled junction in a traditional mid engined supercar - no thanks!

Must admit, 3/4 months ago I test drove Gorners 'Orange' Sagaris, as was severley tempted.
Held out due to not being sure it was worth the £15k extra over the T350.
The more time passes, and the more reports I read, I must say I'm tempted again.
The T350 has just had its 18,000 service. It is my intention to get rid before its next 'major' one, although I must admit to have been thinking along the lines of a GT3 or even GT2.
However, I suspect this choice was mainly due to the letdown of achieving a relatively poor 160mpg at Vmax.
On further evidence, at the TVR track day last month at Croft, a 996 Turbo turned up & was severley punished by a Tuscan 'S'.
What does top speed really matter ? day to day, now that TVR has a 3 year warranty I am finding it hard to resist the Sag.
Only other consideration at the moment was whether a Tuscan S offers the better all round package, i.e roof off option in summer.
We shall see.
Don't get me wrong, I still want to own a Porsche, Ferrari, and hopefully Lambo at some stage, but the Sag is looking an awesome car.
Long may TVR continue.
on a slightly different matter, do we not want 'outsiders' to think the engine is a dodgy one ? What I mean is, is part of the TVR thing not the fact that they are rarely seen ? If every tom, dick & harry has one, will it not turn turn into a Porsche ?
p.s. If your going for a Sag, make sure you go for the short ratio gearbox, as god intended.

Short ratio box? Give and take driving in the UK, absolutely no need for it. On the track maybe, on the road, no.

TVR's official top speed is 195mph for the Sagaris, but 180mph is being bandied about amongst the media - perhaps this is more a realistic figure?
How does the close ratio 'box compare to the standard version?

Without the flap I suspect the Sag will pull 195. With it, 180-185 is probably accurate. Rather academic in my humble, but there you go.
I tested the short ratio in an S and it was pretty clear very quickly it was strictly in the "nice to have but not worth #1500" catagory. Pits has it and loves it though, but I cant say I see it as a must have.
I suspect it depends on what you're going to be doing with the car.
If you are be track the car, then the SR gearbox has its advantages, however, if this is not its intended use, then yes, its just a £1500 non essential.

The GT2 was a Godawful car until at least the Mk2 version of the 996. Even then it was still naff. It was a blunt instrument mascerading as a scalpel. In fact that pretty much sums up the GT3 aswell, they are both blunt instruments masquerading as scalpels, except the GT2 had more power. What the GT2 always should have been is what SCofM made it into.
Dont even get me started on the GT3. A car made entirely for Wannabes.
