I'm having a few things 'attending' to on my car, so am looking into upgrading/changing a few things whilst the other work is being done.

1. I have had F1's on another car and i found them very wallowy and sloppy, so i was hoping the the T350 might be a bit different, unfortunately not. :( Does anybody use any other tyre that is comparible in performance/wear/grip, but doesn't make the car feel like a barge.... Pirelli P-Zero? Yoko's? Anything else?

2. The front lights can be described in no other word apart from crap! So I want to get some HID or Gascharge Xenons put in. I have seen that Silverstone sell them and also my dealer has said he can fit some for about £800. Has anybody here had them done? If so what are the results like?

3. I have been told that 'Nitrons' COMPLETELY transform the car for the better. Anybody here had them fitted? Are they worth the money.

TIA :)
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

What are you having done to the car?

In answer to your question, when it comes to tyres I am going to investigate putting Michelins Pilot Sports onto the Tamora. They might be worth investigating.

Long story but i was intentionally run off the road during the week on a dual carriageway and the driver drove off, so im having to have a bit of body work done by TVR to get her looking ship shape again. I hit a barrier which may sound bad, but the policeman who attended showed me that if it had happened 5 meteres earlier i would have probably ended up dead plumeting down a 20ft drop, so im counting me lucky stars.

The police dont know why it happened, but they have a feeling that it was a 'jealousy' attack which they see sometimes. It was pissing down with rain and it all happpend so fast, it was all a bit of a blur.

I'm ok, bit shook up and got a stiff neck etc. So i'm looking to get a few bits upgraded whilts my car is being fixed to make me feel better.

Barstewards.

So long as you are ok thats the main thing. Is the car very bad? I understand the the bodyshop that Allan uses is excellent so I am sure it will soon be looking good.

Did you manage to get a number plate or anything?

Sorry to hear about your 'accident', Kevin , I have noticed only in the past few months that there seems to be an increase in 'Jealousy manoeuvres', forcing us to take avoiding action! These morons should be treated in the same way as an attempted murder suspect!

Right, Nitrons would be a very good upgrade, super sports exhaust, if you haven't got one already, throttle bodies bushed ( I think they're still unbushed on the standard engine), could think of lots more, but I'd be silly!

Kevin.

Sorry to hear about the incident - barstewards. I guess you didn't get any details of the offender if it happened so fast.

F1s - I think they're great, and they work well on the track. I suggest posted a question about tyre alternatives in the other modern TVR forums (or General TVR Stuff) - a Cerbera/Tuscan is not that different and lots of people have tried other brands.

Nitrons - Over 1k to get them fitted and adjusted. I guess they make a difference but how close to the limit are you driving on the road? I've never reached the limit of my car on the road (maybe I need to try harder), how about more driver training instead? I'm sure they're good though

Sounds interesting - is the main effect of this to stop air leakage as they gradually wear?

I think so, there are a few of the Tuscan guys who have had it done, I think the normal bodies wear a lot quicker without the bushes, so they have to be 'reset' every service, to 'cancel out' the wear, but I'm sure this just means that each time it's done, throttle response is slowly strangled. The 'upgraded' throttle bodies, complete with bushes, reduces the wear significantly - not cheap at arounf £350-400, but I guess in the longrun, no more expensive than the bodies having to be re-calibrated every service.
I am sure JSG had his done, and he noticed an improvement in throttle response.

Hope you're up and running soon, with a bit of luck before winter kicks in. I agree with you on the lights, my first priority i think.
Can the upgraded lights be used on your 'normal' headlights or is it something thats on 'beam'?
Not really sure about the tyres and nitrons, not been able to go fast enough with running in to try. Did get my baby back from its 1000 miles service so i'll try driving faster. I have an rr spec t350t but my initial thoughts are that the handling on the mk2 exige i previously had is way ahead. Not that i'd change her for the world

I was nearly run off the A303 by a BMW 318 trying to prove a point. Him and his squeeky mate in his MG decided they were going to box me in and run the Tam onto the gravel alongside the road, fortunately no damage as I was crawling along when they pushed me over. got out of the car ready to defend my pride and joy and their balls shrunk rapidly and they disappeared.

Got out of their 'box' twice with the use of eye closure and severe use of the load pedal but the traffic was too bad and these two were driving like complete cocks. My mate in the S2000 behind was on the phone to the coppers giving them a running comentary.

Police could not do anything as they would be gone before they got there.

Needed the police 4 times in the last year and they have failed everytime:

Run off the road

Garden robbed

Wifes Sport Ka torched (Fire brigade 3mins / Police 8 hours)

Trick or treaters decided to use the front of my house for a spot of target practice with eggs, ketchup, flour, piss etc.

They would be round to mine fairly quickly brandishing a NIP or writing to me about anti-shooting saboteurs, how about taking care of me as a law abiding citizen and catch some of the misserable tossers who are blighting our country.

Silverstone fitted HID dipped headlights to my sagaris and they did a really good job. The light output is excellent
