Straight line speed, thought a 4.5 is 420bhp, Sag 406bhp, pretty close.

420bhp on a 4.5 Cerb is surely the exception not the rule, according to the SRR results I was looking at recently.
In fact if I could be bothered, I bet the average car is more like 370bhp or less.

It takes a lot of HP to make a difference at the sort of top speeds TVRs like cerberas and sagari are capable of, so it's much more likely to be aero effected.

In a like-for-lke real HP shoot-out I bet on the cerbera,

Went out in a mates Saggy recently. We both agreed that the Sagaris is a little bit quicker to 100 which his Sag can do in 2nd gear The Sagaris is much lighter and even though my Cerb has a measley 400bhp I have to admit it's quicker off the mark. The traction from launch is way better than a Cerb.

After 100 though it's the cerb all the way. The aero on the Sagaris starts to take over and progress from 130 upwards is much less vigorous than the cerb.

Hope this helps.

Road wise, 4.2 against 'Gris, no competition, 'Gris outright. Lighter, quicker off the mark by far. And no "F" factor as with the Cerb - the possibility of a spin or slide!! Not driven the 4.5. Wasn't aware there was that much difference.

I had the 4.5 Lightweight & recently part ex'd for a t350c and i think it would be the Cerb all the way, from the standing start all the way until the Cerb topped out. Would never go back to a Cerb tho .

I would take the Cerb 4.5 to out drag a Sagaris. Amazingly my Cerb has exactly the same bhp as a Sagaris at 406bhp. If there are any Sagaris owners out there that would like to put this to rest then I am up for a run down a drag strip

Hmmm, depends on the speed. On a qtr mile the Autec Cerb did 12.93 seconds with a terminal 120 mph. My T350 did 12.81 seconds but termail of 118 mph.

So a quicker launch, but the Cerb pick up speed later in the timing. The T350 still was quiker to the point though.

I think the Autec one Paul had tuned was around 423 + bph, as it was a red rose and re-map with induction etc

Both Julian Marshall (cyclone1) and the late Jason bennet both managed 12.3/118 for the quarter at santa pod .. beats the saggy by quite some margin .. with *only* 390bhp and 1300kg ...

edited to add I'm prety sure david smith got under 13 seconds in his std 4.2??

Good times. The times I quotes were not on a specfic track like S/pot, but a runwat with proper timing equipmet, but pea shingle for a surface

Still good to know the Cerb is still up there with the latest of the TVR's, especially as its an old car now...

I've also had a couple of runs with a friend who has a T350 with the Cerb always having the upper hand, and that was when it only had 340bhp and 340lb/ft torque. Now with 406bhp it would be no contest. The 12.3 1/4 mile run was done when the car had 390bhp, again in theory it should now be even quicker.

I organised a TVR day at Santa Pod earlier in the year, but unfortunately no T350s or Saggys turned up, it would have been good to do a few comparisons, which although not conclusive (due to driver skill)would have been a good gauge and would have created quite a spectacle for those watching in the stand.
