Since my spiders are totally unmarked at the moment I'm a bit reluctant to buy new rears from mytyres and get the local Kwik-Nit monkey to put them on.

What have you done in the past to ensure that no damage ensues during the inevitable tyre replacement?

Ask the tyre fitter to be careful and give him the tip in advance then watch him..

Take them to a proper tyre supplier / fitter. I,ve had both my rears changed, not a mark on the alloys. There is on excuse for damaging alloys when fitting tyres!! The machine shouldn't touch the outer rim at all!
