At least 2 PHers have them - Maddog and Lundinoir.
Don't worry, you're not missing out. I was keeping up with a Tuscan S on a recent track day. Followed him around for several laps, didn't want to pass as I was not trying to kill my tyres, but there was nothing in it in a straight line.

Who does the red rose upgrade - TVR power and what is the approx cost ?.
Does anyone know what the "oficial" claimed improvements in power & torque are and how do these translate into performance figures.
Also, does the red rose upgrade address any or all of the known SP6 issues ?
TVR Power - prices on their website.
375 horses claimed I think - so 25 more. Still a 3.6L engine. Tuscan S and Sagaris use a 4.0L and is supposed to produce 390-405hp.
No it doesn't address any issues. Although a rebuild to RR spec would probably rejuvenate your Speed Six engine for another 15-20k ;-)

I gave Dominic at TVR Power a quick bell today and the conversion is from 3.6l to 4.0l and would cost the thick end of £6.5k, but the upgrade would address the known SP6 problems.
Interesting
So there are known problems to be addressed! I think I have made up my mind, when my S6 needs attantion, I will go for that upgrade - is there a warranty that comes with it? (Should bloody hope so for £6.5K!)lundinoir said:
As TVR Power is owned by TVR Engineering Ltd. does this mean the following is correct?
The manufacturer, TVR Engineering Ltd., is saying that there have been problems, that they still persist, and they can fix the problem for an extra 6.5k?

Hmm, my thinking exactly! It would be nice, I have to admit, to have some clarification, or at least a little more transparency, on exactly what ‘problems’ need addressing, and, if there is a known inherent fault, should it not be sorted, FoC?
Of course, that is assuming there is a prob, I can’t comment either way at the mo, as my S6 has been fine thus far.
(btw, I just realised, it’s very nice to have you back lundinoir

Interesting stuff to digest, or was it my imagination??
Thank you for that, I too despair at the doom mongerers, my Tam's been great! I just asked if there really was a problem (i.e. design fault), or, and more likely, bad grade materials were used in some components, notably finger followers, If TVR Power 'hand pick' the components to the correct spec, that is something I am happy with.
having said that, if the components were discovered to be not of the correct tolerance material, it would be a nice gesture if we didn't have to pay for the component itself, just the labour (and other parts that would benefit from an upgrade.
As I said, I have been more than happy with my S6 Tam, I just want to be sure that if and when I need to splash out a lot of money, I am getting a good deal and a strong reliable (as it was before) engine.

Chris:
I removed the post because it was so long, and it's off-topic. "Yes RR Tams exist".
I'll PM the post to you if you like and I may post it in a more appropriate thread because I feel quite strongly about the S6 "situation".
In my opinion, nothing about the S6 ever justified a "recall". The early S6 years were intensely frustrating and costly for all involved - TVR, dealers and customers. A hell of a lot of warranty work was done - some of which remained affected by the same variable quality of components/assembly expertise as the original fault. I also suspect that the "goodwill" rebuilds were abused by some.
TVR Power pays attention to every bit of empirical knowledge it's got about the S6 - that is "dealing with known faults". Surely that's what we'd expect them to do? To deduce this might mean dramatic re-engineering to dial out some secret failing is nonsense. Also, TVR Power works on S6s of all ages - nothing Dom said suggests that contemporary S6s need "fixing".
The main cock-up was/is a lack of cogent marcoms about the matter from TVR. Head(s) should have rolled over that IMHO.
Anyway, I had a RR T1 from 2001 to 2005 and loved it (never quite as much as Cerberas though - and that's not a V8 vs S6 argument). I'd have another S6 car without hesitation if space permitted. I'm still reflecting on the Reflex Charcoal Tuscan S Vert that was outside London TVR last night. I quite fancy one of those.
Like the Sagaris, the Vert is a fabulous car that deserves to succeed. The Marcos will outgun it, maybe even outhandle it, but the Tuscan is a better looking car inside and out and, at the end of the day, it's a TVR through and through.

There are quite a few RR Tams out there. Here's the link to the Tam Register:

A significant minority are RR. Mine was ordered from new for Jan 2005 delivery and I understand that they are no longer available though.

Details regarding my Tamora RR here.
Wonderfull car. A few years ago I bumped into TVR again, after losing sight for over 10 years
And it was the then introduced Tamora that grabbed me and it still does. My first choice would be a Sagaris now (Cerbs production stopped) but the Tammy still is a good 2nd. PH said:
It was once we got to the twisty bits that the Tamora came into it's own however. Despite using the Tuscan's chassis, the car feels so much smaller and nimble - a word I've never used to descibe any TVR to date. The electrically assisted steering is light yet the feedback is delicious. Even at lowish speeds the chassis is an absolute delight encouraging you to plant the car for every corner, not just hoon it round.
The Tamora marks a turning point for TVR. For years they've produced cars with enormous grunt and mediocre handling. Enthusiasts begged them to get into bed with Lotus and produce a car with enormous power and fantastic handling. With the Tamora they've achieved the required result.
I bet . . .
