With my sagaris approaching 6mnths old, and following numerous hand washes and vigorous polishing ( ! )the bonnet rubbers on both the main bonnet and inspection panel are looking pretty bad. Now, I know that new cars are being supplied without this rubber, and reports are that the car looks far better for it,but could anyone tell me if its a simple job to just remove it ( or get my dealer to ) or does the bonnet require any re-alighnment or protection washers. After all, the rubber must have been deemed a requirement at developement stage and I'm concerned that without it, over time, vibration would cause some paint loss around those areas. Am I being over cautious?

Hi, mine have been removed at 6K service. Looks much cleaner/tidier. (Car colour Chameleon Orange - initial thought was that the black provided a good contrast, but they just got messy).
Drop Tony at HHC (HHC Sales [hexhamhc@gmail.com]) a mail - HHC did the work, placed some pads next to the locating pins at the back of the inspection bonnet, and has done the trick.
