VSS pulse for Tamora Sat Nav
Discussion
Anyone had GPS navigation installed in their Tamora or T350 including speedo pulse input and care to let me have the phone number of the installer?
I want to know where they spliced into the vehicle spedo sensor (VSS) pulse wire.
I've traced the post-amplification wire to the door ECU and dash ECU in the driver's footwell but I'm not keen to cut into these as they are hard to get to.
Thanks for any info.

As you look at the car from behind its under the left hand rear light cluster. Remove the access panel
inside and put your hand in the well. I think the wire is grey and blue (Cant remember as it was a while ago)With a tester you can check for a pulse first.
I had a T350 2004
Thanks. It's not the same on a Tamora as the lights are different.
I may have to get underneath to trace the sensor wire.
Someone must have had nav with VSS pulse installed in a Tamora - shirley?

There is a thread from Chris Watton on this, I think the cabling is already installed and you can just tap into it.
I've not been able to find the thread or the cabling so I've yet to install my AVIC-X1R.
What would be great is a step by step guide for TVR self install ICE. If we all work together to create this I think it would be a great benefit to the TVR community.
Hiya!!!
Just literally come back from Turin! Lovelt weather there, only UK has this rain
Regarding installation of the ACIC-X1, I took it to a professional ICE installer to be fitted, £155 all in, including RA2 hardwire. Like most who own and know TVRs, I was 100% convinced I'd need the Pioneer speed pulse generator, however, it was not needed, and the unit did tap into the Tamora's own speed pulse. I do not know the technical details as I didn't install it, but the car's own does work, and I have had it working great for over a year now!
I think stuff like this would be helpful to put in Sprint magazine, rather than superficial nonsense about taking their 20 year TVR to a Polo event or similar!

Chris - any chance you can let me have the phone number of the installer to ask where they cut into the speedo pulse?
Rus - door ECU in the Tam is in the driver's footwell not the central console but I'm looking into using the speedo wire to it at the moment.
Of course!
It was a company called C.S.S. car sounds and security
