Fault Codes Appearing On Pod With Ignition Off
Discussion
On returning to my car after leaving it for 45 minutes the pod was beeping and showing “Power supply Failure: 144”
The message disappeared when I put the key in the ignition and it started OK and drove normally. About 30 minutes later I stopped for fuel. While I was filling up the pod started beeping with a “System Failure: 136” message and something about the Heater Flap. The needles on the dials did a couple of sweeps up and down as well.
This is all happening with the key out of the ignition and in the first instance the car was locked as well.
Does anybody have any ideas what the cause may be?
Thanks,
TSS

Sounds like some kind of interference. Watch where it does this in future and see if its only at petrol stations/near airports etc. This would confirm it to me.
Mine went haywire in the Eurotunnel once, started just fine at the other end and ran like nothing had happened luckily. I had just done 130+mph for the last 150 miles across Belgium/France (risky I know), and it was 90degrees, then we had a long delay loading the train, then the aircon in the carriage was out. It was really really humid and the car was hot. I put it down to humidity or interference. Its never done it since.

Thanks targarama, I may well be wrong, but I don’t think it’s interference related. It first did it in a car park well away from anything that looked as if it would produce interference. And the petrol station I went to I’ve visited a number of times before without anything happening. I’m just hoping it isn’t sitting there now waggling it’s needles and playing tunes on the pod so the battery’s flat when I get in it to go home.
So another possibility could be a loose earth connection. I don't know how many there are on these cars, but they are crucial when you have a plastic car (hence no body to earth devices to, thus needed twice as many wires back to chassis earths).
Hopefully someone will be along in a minute to explain where all the earths are.

I’ve spoken to the always helpful Silverstone Performance Vehicles, they said that they had a brand new car with similar symptoms which it needed a new ECU. Mine seems to have settled down now – hopefully it’ll start tomorrow morning.
Looks like another thing to add to my 3 page niggle list when it goes back to the factory next month

never had those fault codes, hopefully when she goes back to thefactory to have your list dealt with they shall sort it all out. If the car is operating fine then it's just a lot of frustration I feel.
Still waiting for some dry weather so i can run the fuel down in my tank as the fuel gauge is all the place.Only had 2 replacements put in so far!!

Yep, Power supply failure 144, System failure, heater flap failure – 2 days ago, the damn thing has a mind of it's own, I'm now locked out completely! I had the added bonus of it opening the passenger door in the middle of the night, not good considering the amount of rain we've had recently.
I've previously had problems with the Meta alarm, not disarming the imobiliser, from a water leek round the passenger window, I think it all stems from water getting in, the day before all this happened the speedo needle and LCD speedo went hay wire for a while, jumping from 90mph to 20mph, but then sorted itself out.
I'm investing in a 'NOAH' car cover.

That sounds fun. Think I better chain mine down at night in case it decides to go for a drive by itself!
Aha I have been here!! Basically it was water ingress into the alarm and ecu system. It was fixed by the dealer under warranty. It remains the old big issue I have. For me it occurred whilst driving down a steep hill about 6 weeks into ownership when the car just shut itself down. Whilst I waited for recovery it just got worse!! But it was easily remidied!
