Ive got it on here as Im frankly getting little tired of the general TVR "we're all doomed brigade!"
OK, now I know Ive brassed plenty of you off on my Tamora comments, but, all in all I feel the majority of current TVR owners are in this section, rather than the Tuscans. How come whenever the Doom brigade start wanting to know the "good" things and we tell them...we get ignored? Is there anybody who has taken delivery of an '05 spec car who isnt happy with it? I know Sportie and a cpl of others, had the Sagaris bonnet issues, but fair play to TVR, they got on the ball a hell of a lot quicker than in days of old to come out with a re-issued design. SO far I understand it is working. Mine is certainly OK and Ive seen 130-140 on the clock.

Ive just been wondering, given that I have often been the most cynical and happy to slate certain aspects of TVR and the models, if Im now getting p1shed off with these muppets, how are the rest of you looking at things? Have I just got it wrong and they are right, or are the rest of you getting fed up also?

Being a new potential buyer, I've browsed this forum for reports of ownership be it good or bad.

I've read the problems people have had and take that as just part of the TVR experience.

Interestingly, while at a dealership just over a week ago I was told it was useful I had built my last two cars as I would appreciate the little niggles that come with the car.

Are the "doom" brigade as you put it, people that have jumped from BMW/Mercs, who expect the same type of build quality in a TVR and once bitten with a problem just spiral from there.

Surely the driving experience of these cars must out way the faults ten fold?
Just from the test drive at the weekend I'd say this would certainly be the case with me.

Usually doom, gloom and despondency sets in about the cars when there's no bad weather to complain about.........

Do what I do.
Look at the "experts" profile, if they haven't owned a speed6, tam/ tuscan/ T350 then I don't rise to the bait. Just ignore the ill informed myth perpetuators, it's not worth the time typing a reply.

If they do own said car with problem then fair do's.

I don't care what others think, to be frank (even if people say my Tam drives like a Mondeo! ), I 'get it', others don't, it's that simple!

Back in the seventies I had a 2500M with a stage three conversion. Triple twin webbers with trumpets no air filter, high lift cam etc. The car was totally reliable apart from 5 star fuel and the fact that I had to tune it every week. My wife could never start it so it never got driven when I was away!
The Tam is brill all the way, a hickup with the speedo sensor some time back but hey I had more trouble with my XR3's and Ford than with TVR.
I am working away most of the time and cannot wait to get back to do some serious driving when I can.
These cars are special no one else can make anything like them and it tells when every one has to talk to you where ever you are.

Got to agree with this.

Every one i meet is so enthusiatic about Tivs, they are a true British Icon. If you get what they are about you love em, if you don't, Tuff.

I love my TVR. I've loved my TVRs for ten years. Ignore all the muppetry & just drive around with a big smug grin.

I'm extremely pleased with the quality of my new Sagaris. The driving experience is nothing short of superb either. Which is nice. Most folks don't regularly post to tell us their car is great, and going well without problems. There are lots of questions posted when stuff does go wrong - and that's one of the great benefits of a place like this. You get lots of advice as it has usually happened to someone else before.

I've nothing to moan about (at present ) so I've written 1,754 words on my experience thus far with the Sag for Sprint. If they don't print it I'll stick it on here. They'll accept any old dross on PH you know

I have had cause to moan in the past, so I don't get up tight with people that vent off here when they do have serious personal issues with their TVR. I've had a few in the past and they are not funny. It always helps to share it. Still it can give a one-sided view on TVR ownership as you tend to sense the curtains of doom sweeping in with each reported issue.

My Sagaris is superb except it's windows keep sticking and there is a leak.... No, I won't - you don't want to hear about that. It's a brilliant car. Love it, love it, love it!

Gary.

I've had my Tuscan 1 for 6 months now and adore it,It fact it ruined my holiday to Majorca with the familly as I couldn't bear to be parted from it. I counted the days until I could return home and go out for a Drive..

I did scroll the forums before I bought it and yes some of the posts make you think twice but most of the doom and gloomers are the same people....I don't pay much attention to them.

The problem is that people expect there highly tuned TVR to be like there mass manufacturered Audi/BMW/Volkswagen..ITS NOT....IF IT WAS I WOULDN'T BUY ONE.

TVRs are huge value for money,
Infact when I bought mine a few people said "what did you get a TVR for, they fall to bits and are unreliable", oh yea"what one did you have", "oh I didn't have one, It's just what Ive'heard"....most of there's people couldn't tell you anything about a TVR and arn't worthy of a discussion,,just like some of the people on the forum..

I also think NS is doing a great job but some people will not give him any respect/credit just look a the post about the new factory people just don't believe it.
I think It's vital to TVRs future they get a new facility as anyone who has been to Blacpool will realise the old place is in desperate need of replacement.

I for one will be sticking with the brand and If NS can repeat what he has done already there is a really good future ahead for TVR.
Some people who are talking doom and gloom about TVR will only ever see doom and gloom about everything in there life, and for the majority of them they will lead miserable insignificant lives and there contribution to society will be NIL..

As above, you filter out the dross, and I generally only bother to read posts from worthwhile individuals - oddly enough most of them are posting on this thread!!! (YP/DVP etc where are you!!)

TVR's - have three of them, love 'em all, irrespective of state of play.

Had a complaint about my wife driving into the side of the 'Gris with the Landcruiser - but fair do's I think!

Weather is cooling, snow on high ground.

I have been lucky enough to have owned a Merc and a BMW in the past. I went mad a few years back and bought a Lotus, then a Tuscan and now have T350.
I didn't expect a TVR to be faul free and can honestly say that the occasional niggle you have ( oil senders in my case) hardly register at all as I simply can't wait to get into the beast in the morning and can never walk away from it without a backward glance.
TVR's have SOUL,Hot and steamy northern soul.

I love my TVR Tamora, consider myself enthusiastic about all TVR's and you wont find me being a doomster.

BUT actually I do find you comments about the Tamora slightly aggrivating, particularly as you are effectively putting off other owners, yes its subjective and tongue in cheek but saying it handles and sounds like a mondeo is pretty naff.

So there its off my chest, just stop bashing my type of tvr and we can all get along swimingly. I think the_pits had one for a few months so can offer an honest opinion of the tamora v the sagaris and t350.

That is one of my pts maddog. Im not an "everything about TVR is rosy" guy, I dislike certain models and aspects of TVR and will say so. I do however acknowledge when I think Ive had evidence to tell me Im wrong and acknowledge when TVR get it right. I really dont like either the Tamora or the Tuscanand Ive had my issues with the Sagaris and the Speed Six, but Ive happily said they have prooved me wrong. OK, so Im still not in love with the steering of the 'Gris, but Ive learnt to appreciate its merits and accept the aspects I dont like. With all this then, it is the people who constantly want to have a go at TVR and *never* acknowledge any of the good that is happening, or accept other opinions...of course I dont expect everybody else to share my opinion of the Tam! *All* they want to see is doom and gloom and I dont get that.

Maddog - you think you have problems with comments about your Tam?

You want to try owning a Speed 6 Cerbera and putting up with the V8 lot on the Cerb forum!

FWIW, I believe it's absolutely right for the informed (e.g. current/prev owners) to discuss the good and the bad and their opinions - guess it's human nature to whinge hence the proliferation for 'problem' posts but that doesn't make it right!

I think that we are all incredibly lucky to enjoy the TVR experience - it is almost impossible to verbalise the overall driving sensation (which ever Tiv you own) and as such there will always be a number of folk who don't 'get it'.

It may be tough to rise above the dross but IMO it's sooooo worth it!

There are an awful lot of very nice guys (and gals) on these forums who give genuine advice and bend over backwards to help if you have a prob, these people far outweigh the crud we sometimes have to put up with.
