Just another Dash problem

I have this problem with the LED part of my dash. When I start the car up, after an over night stop, the dash all lights up as normal. After around 45mins of driving the figures slowly start to disapear. I had this problem with an old BMW M3 I had and found that it had a battery fitted in the dash. Does or has anyone had this problem and how to rectify.
