Great feature of the Sagaris in Car magazine. Go out and buy the current issue and read the 'Hottest Cars' supplement, in which the Sagaris features very highly and comes off extremely positively. (Fifth fastest lap-time out of 18, for example.)

A few quotes to get you going:

"...The best car Blackpool has ever built..."

"...Everything feels solid..."

"...Greater coherence and integrity..."

"...It's like driving a GT racer..."

"...And it's as hot as a spanked endurance racer - too hot in fact..."

"...Fearsomely fast..."

"...The throttle control is amazing..."

"...What really sets the Sagaris apart is its handling..."

Go and buy the January '06 issue! (It features a few times in the main magazine, too.)

Cool, will buy it tonight!

Wonder how many non-TVR owning peeps will post on a positive thread!

I agree-it was a great read. The supplement also had the Saggy just a second shy of the Fezza430 around their track. They said it was a more challenging drive but thats what its all about.

Oh dear, I'm disappointed it didn't beat the F430. It's much lighter, OK a fair bit less power but in my experience ferraris are pretty rubbish round a track. Take it from me, I used to own one. I appreciate the F430 is probably quite a step on from the hideous 360modena in terms of power and technology but 360's are pretty crap round a circuit.

Put the Saggy on PZero Corsas instead of Goodyears and let's see who is ahead!

Pits thats interesting to hear-I didn't know you owned a Ferrari.
I have always been amazed at how high a reputation they have for handling-from what I have read the 348 was a right handful when launched,as was the 355 in the early days- the factory offered a free upgrade to early owners - and they let 575 out with handling problems as well only this time round they charged customers £2000+ for the Fiorano handling pack and a mightily impressive £16k for the further GTC 'upgrade'-If TVR tried that they would be crucified.
To hear the 360 did not handle as well is a bit of a suprise

It always staggers me how a positive thread like this one can get so few posts (and it hasn't surprised me who has posted here - all of the usual TVR proponents), when a polar-opposite negative one is so busy...

People just like being miserable gits I guess .. I for one am really pleased to see TVR once again punching above it's weight amongst acknowledged supercars. I don't think TVR will truly ever achieve the badge-halo of ferarri but I don't give a stuff.

The Sag looks great and goes like stink.

LOL, I guess I predicted correctly in my first post of this thread! Like people who hate 4x4s, there are people who seem to hate us for having a TVR, the smallest chance of venting their prejudiced spite on us, they'll grab it with both hands, as seen on the more negative threads, odd though, don’t see it a lot on the Ferrari and Porka forums!

Thank you for your interest Arb....the answer is yes!

But let's put it this way, when my friend pops up on Messenger she types Hi There..Ray or Pauline....?
If there is no answer by return she types "Hello Ray...I'll wait

But he does read....very quickly too...and he reads this forum avidly every evening....

Just got the magazine today, didn't want to comment without reading it myself.

On balance, better than evo's take on it, albeit not as glowing as matty's selective quoting would have you think. Car tested in on a track, and evo tested it on the road - should we read anything into that?

More interestingly (to me) they placed NS no 5 in their ten men of the year - looks like they've got high hopes for the future, which is good news for everyone who admires TVR - owners and non-owners alike.

That'll be the politician in me again, Jamie.

As you say, though, 'on balance' it was a positive write up.

And as always YP, the voice of reason - so I had a cracking day's driving around my local country lanes, and my grin just gets bigger and bigger.*

Here goes then...

Actually, I know that the Sag is a great car to drive.

But, IMO the acid test will be how the car holds up over time - does the improved build quality last (i.e. how does the car look after 2 yrs/ 12k)? are the cars (and of course, engines) reliable and how do they fair on residuals? Add to this the aftersales support package - especially availability of parts and availability of dealers themselves (!) and you have a picture of the ownership package. I'm not at all convinced that the overall package is good enough but I agree that the car is worthy of its praise from a driving perspective (even if, IMO, the car's a bit slower than it should be and a bit too dear).

As most of my reservations relate to the future performance of the car, I'm optimistic I won't now get a barrage of abuse from the die hards
