There is a very strong smell of fuel from my Sagaris. Dealer has checked for leaks but found nothing. Anyone got any ideas?

Get it on a ramp and check underneath - or check the fuel cap is sealing properly.

Not a whiff from mine - apart from when the cap is opened and attempts to copy a flame thrower initial spray.
Speaking of which, has anyone found the lock on the cap sticking?
I'll be cleaning and WD40'ing this evening.

A few months ago my T350 smelt of petrol an awful lot.

I took it to the dealer who found that a weld had worn away. This had happened when the car 'grounded' & over time had caused the problem.

Needed a new tank fitting. TVR fitted it FOC & mentioned that it was a design fault & would be changed on new car.

When my T350 did this it was due to parking across a slope, fuel was actually running out of the top of the tank and into the carbon filter and from there out onto the ground under the car.

HI
We had this with our Sagaris - it turned out to be the breather pipe from the petrol tank - It was easily fixed by the dealer.

The one time I had a similar problem was quite embarrassing, but I'll share it with you in case it helps.

Given the Tuscan had run out of fuel when the gauge showed 6 litres once, I used to think it was a good idea to carry a spare can of petrol at all times.

I drove down to the Alps a year ago and, although the temperatures outside were low, it appears that the inside of my boot may have... er... warmed up slightly, causing the fuel to expand and leak out of the can. Naturally it only leaked onto my girlfriend's clothes () but both the car and the hotel room stank of petrol for a week!
