As some of you know we have recently purchased a 2003 Tamora, and to be honest i have struggled to come to terms with the car, it just seems a tad...er....different to the Tuscan,
But we had a really good time today, roof and windows down we did our usual 60 mile round circuit taking in A32/A272/B2149, For some reason(it was very cold) the car felt quicker, it seemed to handle better and sounded superb, through the Sports Exhaust, It even managed to turn a few heads in Petersfield(probably the noise)
We ended up at Goodwood to gate crash the Elise track day
Overall a great run out, and with a tweek here and there the Tam might get a stay of execution
Any one else get a red nose today? Red rose!

Glad you enjoyed it today, the Tam really is a very well set up sports car, and is at its best on the B-roads, you just know (after a while) that when you turn into a corner, its not gonna take your head off with unpredictable handling. As I have said before, I can take corners/bends at 70, while Chan's screaming (literally!) for me to slow down, as I thought I was doing no more than 50!
Know what you mean about it seeming faster on some days, I too get the same feeling!

I had a great blast driving up from London TVR to the wilds of Buckinghamshire. I find my Tamora much more of a drivers car than my Tuscan ever was.

Chris it might indeed be faster on cold or damp drives...

Temperature —hot air is less dense than cold air. There will be more oxygen in one cubic foot of air at 60-degrees F than there will be at 90-degrees F. You’ve probably experienced this because engines make less horsepower as the temperature increases.

Altitude, temperature, barometric pressure, and humidity all play a part in the total oxygen content of air.

Thanks for that, Justin, that would explain it for sure - ironic to think that when its snowey and icey, you can get the optimum performance (when you can't use it to the full!), and on the best top down summer days, you a bit lower on BHP, when you can wring every ounce out of the engine! lol

Colder air tends to have more water in it and hence hydrogen. As hydrogen is highly exposive, it gives the engine better, more efficient combustion.

Yep, I've had this too and someone explained it to me at the time.

Hot days and the car struggles to get over 150.

Cold days, its still pushing well past 160.

Great convoy, as I was at the back I saw all the great reactions from people we passed, the lads at the bus stop nearly broke their necks looking round one after the other as each car passed.
