Why I love my T350
Discussion
Days like today make me realise how special this car is! Out for a spirited drive loving the sound, the burbbling, lapping up the usual looks, stares, thumbs up and nods of appreciation, but 2 things happened:
1. I pulled in to get some Fuel, and a chap in his mid 30's was filling his Maserati 4200 up next to where i pulled up. He went off to pay for his fuel, but kept looking round at the Tiv. As I was filling up he returned from paying, walked over, and said "That is quite simply the most beautiful car I have seen in my life!"
2. Pulled up to some lights in Bristol City Centre which has a pelican crossing on it. The lights changed red and people started to cross, then a boy of about 12 stopped in the middle, got his phone out and started taking pictures. Chuffed to bits, I gave him a thumbs up.... then another guy (about 25), did the same!
Yes I know It's shallow, but Iove the attention this car draws, and the best bit is.... I have not had one negative comment about my car since I bought her. It's ALWAYS positive comments.

Nice post Kevin, the fact that people always seem to give positive comments about our cars is something I always seem to forget 'till it happens! When kids shout out 'nice car mister', I always feel as though I've been transported into some surreal Dickensian novel, I didn't realise that phrase was still with us, especially with the younger generation - I just assume these cars evoke thoughts about what it is to be British, and damned proud of it too!
Funny really.......

I'm having to drive around in a 6 series bmw at the moment cos i'm doing a lot of long distance driving. I hate it, not only is it a car that wants to do the driving for you but i never have been treated so negatively by other road users. There is something exceptional about driving a tvr. Long may it continue
The amount of times iv had kids take photos of my car is rediculous. I think everyone in the world loves TVR's, old, young, man or woman. People everywhere stop and stare, it makes u feel like a celebrity. I even have women working in certain sandwich shops try and chat me up for a spin in the car
but ill say no more abt that lol.
but ill say no more abt that lol.I confirm that. Between 2 Elises, I tried to be happy with a Boxster S, and it happened the same : Jalous, agressivity, ironic remarques and so on,(in Germany, France...).Bought my second Elise, and the niceminded Paparazzi came out, the old Ladies smiled, the kids too.
In hope I will not be disapointed by my next choice, and will post a similar reply like Kmpowell (350C or Sa££aris)

It just helps to remind you TVR's are seen as special by everyone.
True story.
Where I live every summer we get a tone of italian exchange students. One night I heard a lot of noise outside and went to check on the car-there were about 30 italian teenagers and their teacher admiring the T350.They just loved it.

On the way up north after picking up my T350 last year I stopped at a petrol station in Edinburgh. Next to me was a Maser Quatroporte. When I went to pay all three attendents were glued to the window staring at my car and one of them offered me her phone number (jokingly of course).
Its been like that ever since. Not one single solitary bad word or aggressive comment.
I strayed from the fold but now I'm back I can honestly say I love my car.

I'm an interloper from the Chim forum, but I have to say that generally I find people in this country pretty disinterested in cars. I've had the ocassional thumbs up from youngsters, but I find that adults in general don't appear to give a monkey's. Contrast this with my pilgrimage to Le Mans this year and the French really seemed to be into the cars wherever we went. I suspect that it's just symptomatic of the general lack of respect and couldn't give a damn attitude that large sections of our society display these days.
Please no smart-arse comments about Chim's not being stunning enough to draw attention, otherwise it will spark off another inter-forum war. We Tivvers need to stick together and to pour bile of the Fezza & Porker drivers !

What does lack of interest have to do with lack of respect? You may have simply worded it badly but it sounds as if you think people should respect you because of the car you drive?

Ditto, and not only kids! Definately a "FEEL GOOD" moment when it happens.
Kinda feel a bit strange when i actually have to get in my car then, the looks i get r very strange as i dont look like your typical TVR Driver
. As for people in France, a vast majority of people in France havnt actually seen TVR's unless they r actual car enthusiasts. I left my last Cerbera outside my student halls once and there was about 20 people gathered round it all takin photos and peeking inside, some were french and some asian students, and not one of them had a clue what it was.... one even asked was it a kit car
, then they asked is it pronounced T-U-Vr, when i told them it was a T.V.R, they were still none the wiser

Far from it, I couldn't give a
what people think of me and/or my car and if I did then I would have been better off buying something safer with a bit more urban street cred and bling like an M3. I was referring to people having either a lack of interest in the cars or a lack of respect for other peoples property.
