Faster after a few miles up?

So I've had the 1000 mile service on the T350. No problems at all, running like a dream. This car is a standard 350bhp and I am wondering if it is noticably less quick than my earlier Tam Red Rose? Do you think that the S6 has some more freeing up to do at this mileage? I am not really nailing it at this stage but never did the Red Rose. Could be that with a solid roof and regular exhaust it feels less "Beasty." What do you reckon?

Tight as hell at 1000 miles. You shouldn't be using anything like the revs that would give you a comparison, but the difference between 350 and 375 bhp will be noticable in a drag race or against a stop watch. I suspect you won't notice the 25 bhp loss (if it really is that much)
Having run a standard Tamora and standard t350 I think you could say the Tam felt slightly hairier in a straight line, esp with the roof down. Then again it was my first TVR and maybe I was getting a bit more used to the outrageous performance by the time the T350 came along. Sadly I've never driven a RR version of either car but would very much like to.

I would still treat it a bit gently for a while yet-short trips up the rev range and don't over load the engine at low revs.
I find it sad that a lot of these cars for sale, second hand, even a few years old, haven't even got that mileage on them, and never have been enjoyed to the full.

T350 is 130kg heavier as well.
would agree with everything said, did first 1000 miles in a week then took her to le mans and realised once down there she was run in so gave her a blast and.............well I changed my pants next !!!!!!!!!!!!
never thought I would be able to drive her as she went like a rocket(was my first TVR)but I have done 21000 miles and she is getting faster, especially further up through the rev range, have yet to find the limit and shall like to keep it that way.

10500 miles and its nicely run in now. Its sooo much faster than the early days! Just flown back from the US and about to go out for a gentle run in it as I have not been able to use it for 3 weeks and feel sorry for it.
Simon - hope San Fran was good. Are you coming to the Tunnel run this evening perchance? Would be good to put a face to a name?

Thats like me! I too haven't found the limit yet, and I drive it virtually every day - that's why I have no intention of getting rid, plenty fast enough for me, along with the handling.
I did find that I found the limits of the Chim 450 within a few months, all power was low down the rev range, great if you could stop the wheels from spinning, but running out of puff soon after 5K rpm, which is exactly when the S6 shines.

I am undecided so have not put my name down. I have to run my GF to a party in town for 9pm but may just take the mini!

Thanks for all the feedback folks. I am certainly taking it pretty easy over the next few k miles. I am not inclined to search for the limit. There is a great band of useable power between 3000 and 5000 rpm. I had not factored in the weight premium. Good point.
I have to say that as a package the T350c is excellent for all round use. Not as hairy as the Tam, but 100% dry!

What is more worrying is the thought that people belive that the low mileage user has not given the car a thrash. Most likely from cold and before 1k miles is up.
