Hi,

I'm afraid another TVR wannabe here.......... Quite interested in the Orient Blue T350 on CastleTVRs website at the minute. Anyone here any knowledge of the car? or indeed what CastleTVR are like to deal with?

Any info greatly appreciated, sooner it gets me behind the wheel of a T350 the better!

Cheers.

Dont know about the T350 but I bought my brand new Tamora in Sept from Castle. Had no issues with them so far, had a few little issues which were fixed at first service. Friendly bunch.

Hey LaserTam, did you get any form of discount when you bought? I'm looking at getting a new one and I'm wondering if there are any deals to be had by looking around?

Also worried about depreciation, but that's another story.

It's a nice sense of anticipation, this buying your first TVR lark, innit T360???

Wanabe - I bought a model that was in the showroom, so yes got a discount on the standard list price for the spec it was. Fell in love with the colour. Yep did consider the depretiation, was planning on buying a 18mth old model, but the draw of the colour, which did match pretty much the spec I wanted(with exception of hydratrak, but think thats standard now!) and the draw of 3 year warranty and obviously having the car from new, was enough to go for it. And I am pleased I did, just counting the days for better weather! Good luck finding one, seen some of your other comments of other threads!

Dont know the car, but use Castles allot and you wont go wrong. Ian, Michael, Rob , Gary and the team there are first class, I have bought 2 cars from them and one from TVR CENTRE which is its brother. Top team at both Centres

certainly is....... just that many things to consider and look at. With that many colour combos etc buying second hand takes a while to find what your after, even with some flexibility!
Then once you find the "right" colour combo you need to check out the history etc (more so than most other motors...)

Still.......... keeps me busy at nights. Loads on invaluable info on here!
Not sure the wife's so happy about it though!

I'm with you there on the unhappy wife. All I keep getting is 'So WHEN do you start decorating...?'

It's all those variables that are pushing me to buy new - but I'm not sure how it compares against used in the long run.

Obviously, greater initial outlay. But what about resale; younger car so how much do you recoup? Then, what about extended warrantee? Only 12 months on 2nd hand, but 3 years on new. Then there's the history checks vs running in yourself.

Unlike LaserTam, I haven't fallen in love with one in a showroom (well, not really true - I've fallen in love with ALL of them, but haven't found that special someone)so can't hope to get much of a discount.

Think I might start a new thread; New vs Used, thoughts and tips please.....

Depreciation hits mighty hard in the first two years as with any car of this type (see porkers and fezzas). However, I think every owner will tell you it's a small price to pay for the experience and you'll never regret it. Just be careful how you go in the first year of ownership, the insurance claims during year 1 for single vehicle shunts with Tivs is .

May "the grin" be with you

Castle TV R

Been dealing with them for the last 6 years with the Cerb and now the Sagaris.......

One thing though...if you want to get to chat with them ..make an appointment so they can set aside the time you need.
Lots of people go on Saturday wanting to chat and they are always sooo busy on a Saturday as it a busy day for collections.

Good luck. When you buy a T350 come and show it off at a Mid Essex Meet.

Depreciations does hit hard; one member lost £7k in 4 months; and that was only because she got a special trade in price - would have lost much more otherwise.

Oh, I am really looking forward to the grin a minute. Just in that horrible quandry pit of not knowing if new or used is best. And, is it worth shopping around for factory ordered new? I.e. which (if any) dealers give discounts?

BUT..... I will be doing it SOON!!

Het, 350T?? a visit to the showroom is definitely worth it for any excuse if like us you are still without a Tiv.

Guys,
I also bought my T350t from the guys in August.
I bought the 6 month old greyish/blue demonstrator (i cant rember the posh name for the colour!)
I got a small discount and a very fair px price for my old S2000.
The car is FANTASTIC, the best toy i ever bought!! I've had no problems and will prob upgrade to a Sagaris in a couple of years, im a real convert now.
But the best thing is the service, the guys are great and cant do enough, even the aftercare is second to none.
OK, so when i bought it a couple of bits fell off inside, and the rear demister is crap, but the engine is fantastic, the noise is mind blowing and the grinning is great.

just go and buy one before you get old and contemplate buying a poring old Porsche!!

By way of balance to this thread, you will see from the rules of posting, Ted has a no name and shame policy. While it is in his commercial interest, it does also mean you will not see both sides of the coin represented.

Well, I sent them an e-mail asking for a bit more info, as I'd have been travelling quite a way, no replies. I did however find a rather nice one much closer to home, test drove it this weekend, and should be picking it up later this week!

So that's around £30k+ of potential business lost by not replying to e-mail................

Ho hum, I'm happy anyway!!

well congratulations on the new car.

Oddly enough I sent them an email 2 weeks ago, heard nothing and had to send a follow-up a few days later. I don't think it helps that Caine and the other sales guy share the same email address. Maybe one thinks the other has answered. Either that or they are too busy selling cars!

Seems a bit lax though, especially this time of year. And in complete contrast to a couple of other dealers I have been in touch with.

Take it you're interested in the car then. Does look good on the surface, good colour combo (imho). Afraid I can't tell you any more info as obviously I didnt actually get to look at it.

Ring or turn up rather than e-mail I guess......
