Hi everyone. I'm seriously considering changing my 450 Chimera for a T350 and am test driving a beautiful black one tomorrow. My only slight concern is around the mileage - it's done 31,000 on an 04 plate. This seems considerably higher than any of the other T350's I've seen advertised. I'm aware that most TVR's prefer to be used, rather than being sat in the garage, but should I be worried with that kind of mileage on the S6 engine? It's coming from a dealer, so I'd be looking to get the TVR approved warranty in any case. Is there anything I else I should look out for/be aware of?

I just know that as soon as I get behind the wheel, any degree of common sense will go straight out of the window so any advice up front would be appreciated.

If you get a warranty, the only thing you need worry about, is making sure you get the biggest discount possible, for a very (for a tvr) high mileage car....

Haggle hard.

I bet the Trade in for the previous owner was VERY low, don't give the dealer a massive profit on the deal..

B

EDITED to add HAGGLE VERY HARD... ie compare how much saving, compared to a 04 car with halve the mileage... Nothing wrong, same applies if buying a Ferrari, 355, 360, 430 the market penalise (wrongly, arguably, but this is reality) high mileage 'specialist' sports cars, when most cars do 9k (or much less) a year.

is it from harrogate HC?? saw it myself, was very nice, although the drivers seat was badly torn/damaged. guess it reflects the mileage. i was put off by the high mileage and 30k asking price.

That's the one abz. Interesting to hear about the drivers seat - a bit of a concern. I agree the price is high. As Barry has said above, if I do decide to buy, I'll be looking for a very good deal. After all, there are plenty of other very nice T350's for sale at the moment.

Not me - I purposefully chose a mid-04 model over an 03 one because several mechanical and cosmetic things were changed in that time (so I was told).

I'd like to think that the new warranty scheme will increase the value of higher mileage cars.

Oh, and don't buy it - surely you'd much rather have a warrantied 04 t350 in the best colour (Reflex Charcoal) with much lower mileage ;-)

Hexham have their 05 demo T350c (2 years + warranty left)priced at £35K ish. Its done 3000 miles, and more importantly, has aircon. The numbers don't seem to stack up on the Harrogate car, unless they can give you an absolutely blistering part-ex of course.

Drivestyle have a very strange way of pricing their cars. (The only car dealer I have ever heard of who prices new cars plus VAT). Their second hand prices are based on a "bid me" approach. I would bid them about £24k if you want it and see what happens.
