As you may have seen from an earlier thread I didn't have quite the weekend I had hoped for in the Sagaris.

I tried to get a replacement screen today and have been told TVR do not have any in stock and do not know when they hope to receive some

I wouldn't mind if it was just a small crack (no puns please!) but it's not, it's about 9" long now and has grown by 2" today. This is a real pain as I need the car as a daily driver while the wife borrows mine until her new one arrives. I'm just concerned it's going to go and I'll be stuffed for transport.

Anyone else had a screen replaced?
How long did you wait?

One really p!ssed owner..........................

Is the screen the same as in a T350 and/or Tamora - If so I cant believe that they don't carry some stock.

I have phoned a few and they all say the same!?!

I did suggest the 350 route as well but still no joy.

Suggest you give Tony at HHC a call, he'll probably know better what and where.

Sympathies. Had similar my T350 screen last year; replacement screen was only available from the factory, and advice from both dealer and national windscreen co's was that for a perfect job it was best done at the factory, so off it went (it was nearby anyway). I'm sure an experienced dealer would be fine though.

Next time I'll pay for the rapid resin-filling of the hole/crack before it goes further...

Sadly the car will be in my garage from tomorrow for the next few weeks while I wait.

The crack has grown a futher 2" this afternoon and I cannot let it go completely.

I'm really miffed that a screen can stop the enjoyment dead in it's tracks and the factory can't supply a basic item

How many Sagaris are out there now? Enough that this should not be happening.

Rant over..........................

Why would it stop you driving it? Surely if it is a laminated screen the crack will not affect it other than visually.

Have you called the factory? I'd be calling them myself and reading the riot act. I wonder if they're still building Sagarises...

cqueen,

Replacement Windscreen firms like Autoglass, RAC etc all order from the factory too and all gave me the same answer of no eta from factory.

Ribol,

The crack has grown by 4-5" Monday and again another 2-3" this morning, so at this rate it'll be across the drivers line of site within a couple of days.

Targarama,

That's the plan for this morning!

Good news..........

I phoned the factory direct and they are shipping a screen to my dealers for tomorrow

It would seem the confusion started over the incorrect part number!

Watch this space.

Fair enough, given the choice I would rather drive a car without a crack on the windscreen but it certainly doesn't make it unroadworthy.

Anyway, it seems like you won't have to now so problem solved.

The problem is often the fitters supply chain and not the manufactuers. It's a case of putting pressure to find when when it is not sitting conveniently in their depot.

My brother had the same issue with a Signum rear glass. Initially they quoted 6 weeks but in the end they found one next day.
