Sagaris gone ..back to Chimaera
Discussion
See I dont get this.
Ive just got 'gris back today after about 10 days without her as she has been at the dealership having a 6k service and getting her clutch looked at. For that time I ran a little Fiesta.
Cant say I missed the car that much, only going to work and back, in fact I rather enjoyed the fuel consumption of the Fiesta. Glad the car is back now mind, I can enjoy some runs again, but just for 10 days? Come on, be serious.

Don't know what your run to work consists of - provided I'm on the move fairly early, and after 10 minutes of leaving the car running to warm up, (no worries there, there's 150 Kgs of dogs to get past to get to it!!) it's a clear run through fairly good sweeping country roads with some good twisties to the outskirts of Aberdeen - 15 minutes of pure grin first thing in the morning.
And the return, since I leave early to avoid the slug traffic, much the same. Just for the fun of it, sometimes out for a run at lunchtime.
The explanation is simple - the 'Gris is addictive: other than the 6K service and associated niggles, I have driven the car every day since last August, and that feeling has remained undiluted throughout.
Going home at lunch time today, and this evening, clear skies, bright and cold, had the top off the Chimaera, and have left it off in anticipation of the same conditions tomorrow morning. Really good fun again, but in a different league.

Ill let you have it then
But if you miss the 'Gris that much its only because you have a Chimp and not a Griff!
Ah, yes, never tried a Griff!!! Seen you wax lyrical and others as well. On the list, but the fleet may be expanding in another direction soon, so that will have to wait.
We get the Cerb 4.2 back tomorrow - but with the clear weather I'll stick with the Chimp until the 'Gris Returns. T'was chill this morning at 07:00 with the top off - but R4 murmuring out some vague classical music and the sound of the dawn chorus - spring is almost sprung and all that.
Heading off to Knockhill for some skidpan and advanced driving sometime soon: Ireland TVRCC Celtic gathering in March, Nurburgring in May. Looking busy this year, + Alford TVR/MG day in mid summer.
"The Return of the 'Gris", book, film, soundtrack, play.....

Muwahahaha I have my car back
Whats the symbol for "sad car geek feels warm glow inside" ? Now I know this is probably just selective hearing but I *swear* the engine feels & sounds grumblier, deeper, harder, meaner. Fair bit more bass in there.
Well maybe running super slick synthetic oil (fitted at 6000 mile service) will make the engine rev quicker and maybe even liberate a few geegee's while it's at it?
I'd expect mine to be running better than ever at 6000 miles. It's certainly pulling better than ever at 4700 than ever before.
I know, it's disgracefully underused at the moment but this spring and summer will see to that.

Went up and checked the repair work yesterday evening - excellent job, spraying was going to be done last night. Expecting car back late today.
Jaguar repair next to the 'Gris, ongoing, looked very good.
This is excellent given that the garage is only 1 mile away from home: not that I intend to make a habit of going in for repairs!!
