diff ratio on a sag

Tamora and Tuscan S are/were 3.73:1, T350 3.46:1 (the higher the number the lower the final drive = better acceleration, higher number means taller gearing = higher top speed)
So Sagaris could be either. You can check the tag on the diff.
Not sure you are completely correct (although you should be).
T350 and Tamora are same final drive ratio. Tuscan S has CR box and therefore lower final drive.
I would, if the ratios are correct, suggest:
T350, Tamora and Sagaris are 3.46:1
Sagris CR and Tuscan S 3.73:1.
My get out clause being "you get what youre given if thats all TVR have"

There probably is no right or wrong, as you say with your get out clause
I'm not so sure a Tam and T350 do have the same final drive as I was always led to believe that the Tam had the lower diff ratio (something to do with restricting top speed)
Tuscan S having CR as standard would explain it's lower diff, not so sure about Sag, as CR isn't standard, what diff do you get then? and if you spec CR does it change?
One things for sure a Sag with CR and 3.46:1 diff will have slower acceleration than a Tuscan S and even a Sag without a CR. The best combo would be CR and 3.73:1, as Tuscan S.

mine is a 3.46:1, but it certainly doesnt seem any quicker than my old tuscan, and ive got the close ratio box
That's the worst combo for acceleration.
The difference between a 3.46 and 3.73 is significant. Traction from rest is brilliant with a 3.46/CR Sagaris but the car doesn't really come alive until 80+ ...and then it seems to REALLY come alive. In other words, at legal speeds, it's a very calm car indeed. Another oddity of this set up is that you can virtually do a lap of most race circuits in 3rd.
Measured Sagaris press cars used a 3.73 and a CR box - the best combo. They will just nudge 100mph in 2nd. [bruceforsyth]Didn't they do well[/bruceforsyth]

Phil
My Sagaris is 3.46 and CR and scheduled for a change to a 3.73 or 3.79. Considered a 3.9 but think 1st would go back to being a useless gear.
Agree 100% what you say about the acceleration with the high ratio and CR combination. Some circuits third is not even a consideration!!

Interesting topic this thread is...
I have a t350t which has a 4.0S engine, and I specced it with a CR box. In my copy of the manual, it states that the diff is 3.73. Do you know whether this applies to the standard diff, or the optional (as of then) hydratrak diff? Is there an easy way to determine what the ratio is of the diff, without taking the car out on the road and determining the mph/revs ratio?
Rich.

Daftlad, looks like you were right about Tam and T350, they are both listed as having a 3.73:1 diff ratio, as is Tuscan. Guess it's only Sagaris that has 3.46:1 (or certain ones anyway!)
RIGHT, everyone on their knees and check your diff...

When I purchased my T350C from the factory I was informed by a reliable member of staff that standard diff was 3:5 and that to get a quick car ie Sagaris quick then a 3:7 Hydratrak was the job. I can confirm that 3:7 Hydratrak is indeed the job and the car is ballistic. Friends M3CSL (390bhp)is no where near.
I am also reliably informed that the Top Gear Lap time for the the T350 was with a standard diff car.
