Sag not run in so not giving it full throttle..?

Anyways some people will alway boast about beating a TVR, even when there are reasons for the TVR not playing.

I have given up playing with people in the Chim, not worth it especially as I know I can beat a SL65 AMG at TL GP's as proved last year, we both had fun going up Princess Parkway.

I couldn't stay on full throttle behind him without running into his back end, so I shot up the inside, flew past him and nailed it. By 140 he he was way behind

Racing on public roads at twice the legal limit - maybe one of them needed his license more than the other?

Reading that post, that's exactly what I thought! I don't mind a bit of 'friendly racing', if conditions allow, and there's absolutely no-one else about, but that, in busy traffic at those speeds!!!

Don't you think its just great that people have to post up on the web when their £80k M Powered BMW is measured on how fast it is against a TVR

Whether the Sag was being run in or not, I think its a compliment more than anything

Its great owning a car that other judge standards by.

It was me!!

And yep you guessed it, there was I having a spirited drive home after dropping this guy off when an M6 comes hurtling up behind me.

Traffic was sufficient to limit speeds in sections to no more than 80ish, all the time having normal road users weaving in between us. It really wasn't the time or the place to "race".

I tried to explain in the morning that I'm still treating the old girl with respect due to it only doing 3k miles and the roads not being as dry as they could (and never going above 5k rpm).

I sat in 4/5 gear on the A406 for the whole journey to the M11 with this guy trying to prove his car was faster

Funilly for £90k I'd want my car to be faster......................

I would like to see the M6 gearbox bolted to a S6 though.

Take him for another comparison at a trackday near you where the real cars get sorted from the computerised mobile transport devices.

Limiting to 5k after 3k miles seems a bit 'tight' of you on the Sag. Surely (road conditions/traffic permitting) you can use a few more revs for a few seconds. I can't think of anyone with a speed six who wouldn't have touched 6-7k revs for a split second at some point by 3,000 miles on the odo. I hope your engine lasts a million miles
(not criticising, just thinking you're being super super cautious).

"more power and better aero - at those speeds weight ceases to be a significant factor..."

Not to get in a piss fest over this but i think the gris is made more and better for aero than a piggy bimmer. I love it when obsolete car drivers brag about something they make up.

I think there's a little more of a psychological aspect to this guy posting it up on his forum.

After all, he's 'beat' the boss in his car.....a story to dine out on for some time.....it's human nature.

But..after in a short time his thread will fade and at the end of the day

You still have the Sagaris and you're still the boss.......

How come his boss drives a Saggy and he drives the M6, is it me or should this really be the other way round? There is a £30k difference? Seems strange, he must be a very nice boss, giving him such a wage and letting him beat him in his M6

Pretty pointless having the two I think. For £80k he could have bought something totally different like a used 360 Spider to go with the M5, ahh well everyones different. I wouldnt complain if i had an M5 & M6 sitting in my garage

By 140 he he was way behind !!!! Yeah right

I sold my T350c and bought a M3csl. One week later I did three
runs against a T350 a the vmax event. Nothing in in what so ever. Both cars were very evenly match.

On the other hand up to 150 the M5 could not keep up with my M3

Sorry, is it just me, or do those boards sound like they were written by school boys in a pissing contest? Yeah, you da man, you killed a TVR - give me a break

An' anyway, the Sagaris would have kicked his butt if he was trying...
