Has anyone else experienced this?

After 3500 miles, driving to work, I lost power and the pedal hit the pedal box tray.

Called the RAC out, their patrol man removed the old cable and made up a temporary one.

It had snapped about 25mm from the ball at the pedeal end of the cable.
I rang TVR Centre while waiting for the RAC, they had one in stock and offered to fit it for me as soon as I could get up there Now that's service All under warranty too.

Same dealer has offered to teach me how to fit one and to let me take one when I go a 3000 mile round trip around Europe with the furball5000 boys in the summer! For me there customer service is really good.

Sounds very similar to the V8S cable, which had a habbit of snapping at one time. It may just be that you are heavy footed and need a throttle stop, but it can be aggravated by having the throttle pedal adjusted to the wrong height (makes the cable kink at the pedal) or having the cable misaligned where it comes through the bulkhead (also makes the inner kink at the pedal).

Heavy footed me!

Could be that I've had the pedal box adjusted due to having long legs.

Same happened on my S2 - looks like they're still using a similar design! Quite disconcerting as it happened when I was crossing a dual carriageway!

I've had it twice on my Tuscan also...

There is a mod out to re-route the cable to try and

reduced the tension on the cable. So far it seems to be working

SNAP 2!

About 3600 odd miles on the clock and pedal hit the floor just as I started my journey back to work. Waited over 2 1/2 hours for RAC recovery truck to come - normal RAC patrol wouldn't touch it apparently?

On its way to Hexham on the back of a low-loader as we speak. Oh yes, and noticed a nail in the tyre as we loaded the car up

Looks like it's cosy weekend in for me

Yes this happened TWICE to me!!

The first time was when I was taking my dad for his first drive of the TVR, and explaining how there had been no problems yet!

The Second time was when I was on the way to the workshop to have another niggle attended to. 500 meters from my destination...

I was told this wasn't a common problem with the Sagaris I can see they weren't quite right about that. Apparently it used to happen on the Tuscans fairly often...

I don't actually understand why this happens, if it is well oiled, what is the issue. If it is a design error then surely they can make adjustments...

Can someone shed some light please, am I too heavy footed? surely not

I wonder why its so different to a T350/Tamora. I'm sure I've read about the odd cable snappage on these cars, but it seems most Sagaris' have had this happen.
