I have a 2003 Tamora that i love more than life itself. However she has started to misbehave a little and i'm hoping someone out there may have a simple solution to my worrying problem. As soon as i turn my engine on the speedo tells me i'm going at 234mph, i've been tempted to try and get it up to some pretty impressive speeds but this takes the biscuit. It even more impressive as i'm apparently going at this speed when stopped at a red light. This is obviously a problem but not as drastic as my mile counter, I have worked out that it thinks i'm going at almost 3000mph even when stationary. Obviously not good for the resale of my car. Does anyone have a clue what is going on???

Faulty speed sensor on the rear diff probably. Has it ever been replaced? TVR changed the design about a year ago - mine was replaced then and has been fine ever since (didn't have the same problem as you, mine was dropping out after a hot run).

I'd find the right fuse and pull it to prevent and more unneccessary miles going on the 'clock'. Obviously make sure the same fuse doesn't supply anything mission critical like brake lights

Same problem with the 'Gris - sensor change out is relatively easy, contact your dealer asap, but pull the fuse first!!

If you do not know what fuse it is it may be quicker (and safer) to pull the connector apart in the boot.

This is on top of the petrol tank right hand side.

Any idea how much the speed sensor will cost me?
