I am thinking about changing my Forester and kit car for a single car and a TVR is a serious consideration.

I am away from home most weeks Monday to Friday so do not need a car for commuting, though that could change, but need a car I can rely on at least to some degree, I also do sprints/hillclimbs with the kit car and would want to continue competing with whatever I buy.

Do any of you use your Tamora as an everyday driver.
How reliable/unreliable are current TVRs
What is the service interval
How easy are they to get in and out of- I have difficulty with an Elise when the roof is on, is a Tamora much easier to get in/out of. As my user name indicates I am not a thin chap.
Is there anything else I should know.

Thanks in advance
Murray

Murray, drop me a line - or better still come over and have a look through the 'Gris.

Many of us came from the Elise to the Tamora, use it every day and consider it a good move. Try a search on Elise and they should be plenty to read to help you out.

lol i also came from an elise to a tam via a mondeo and a boxster.

i have used the tam everyday for 6 wks so far, i would say go 4 it. its far easier to get into than the elise. reliabilty is ok so far but have had a few niggles. i believe the later engines have better parts.

It's been my everyday car for the past four years and I've no regrets. I fact my next car will probably be a Tamora! I do less than 10,000 miles per year so servicing is okay for me. Let me know if you want any details.
Cheers.... Andrew

Tams are great cars, but I traded mine for a T350 as I could not get on with the leaks, and the pain of getting the roof in and out of the boot every time the weather changed. I am doing 3 x the mileage in the T350, so practically every day use. Love it.

I fancy the Tamora as it would replace my kitcar and regular driver so the convertible sounded good, but maybe a T350 would be more practical, thanks you have put doubt in my mind now .

Well, to doubt you back the other way, mine doesn't leak (which as far as I know is the norm) and with a bit of practice and the boot mod the roof goes in the boot no problem.

+ The roof comes off so it sounds better, the Tam is lighter than the T350 and did I mention that the roof comes off?

And to further confuse the issue - the Sagaris is great as a daily driver, but then so was the 4L Chim.

Mine doesnt leak at all!! The first sunny day you'll regret not having the Tamora, especially as TVR aircon isnt the best!!

Just to muddy the waters, mine does leak but I seem to have sorted the problem by parking it sideways on, up a hill at night! (daytime rain still a problem).

Definetly ok for a daily use car. I've used mine everyday for the last 15 months and put 18k miles on it without any major problems. Just needs the regular 6k servicing and check the oil and water levels as regular as possible.

Really think it is down to luck on whether you get a good one or not, but I'm a firm believer that the more you use it the more reliable it will be.

Can't disagree that the roof comes off. Not looking to put anyone off a Tam either. The T350 has a roll cage too!

My Tamora doesn't leak either and is easy to get in and out of (with or without the hood).

Our Tamora did leak. It was one of the reasons it was in the garage for 8 out 16 weeks ownership. In the end the problem was traced to a roof panel that wasn't square.

I used mine thru the winter even driving the cat n fiddle in a blizzard... mine leaked like a sieve when I first got it and we found the screen had almost no sealant bonding it in! Once that was fixed it was dry as a bone. With the 3.6 you can drive it everywhere relaibly. I loved mine.
