Dear all, when ordering my Sagaris, I specifically wanted the sports exhausts, which, and at the time they were changing suppliers and all sorts of nonsense, but was told 'you will have the sports exhaust'. Recently, I was talking with another Sagaris owner, who, upon seeing my exhaust pipes said to me, 'you should have gotten the sports exhaust'. Confused and slightly shocked said, 'but I did'... anyway we had this dicussion for a little while... Can anyone please post photographs of their sports exhausts so I can see if I have had the wool pulled over my eyes?

If you can't see properly, the exhaust has the 'join' accentuated, and is smaller than the exhausts on his...

the end cans in the pictures you posted look entirely standard to me. But without hearing them I couldn't say if they've had some wadding removed or whatever else could make them louder than standard. To look at they are the same as mine.

Early cars (very early cars) had similar end cans but they didn't have the visible weld thing and were a slightly larger pipe with a smaller exit hole.

TVR power have 'sports exhausts' shown on their website but they are a slightly different design again.

Is the silencing on the Saggy system not carried out by the box the tail pipes are connected to? in which case the "sports" exhaust is nothing more than a pretty tailpipe. To make a difference to the exhaust note, the box would have to be openened up (like the Griff's centre box)and the wadding removed.

TVR Power do an upgrade to the exhaust system which removes the rear silencer box and replace it with straight through pipes.

I've fitted a set of Tuscan carbon cans which give a slightly deeper note to the car and will look forward to hearing them once the rear silencer upgrade is complete

See my site for pics of before and after www.tvrsagaris.me.uk (I know it needs updating!)

Should be, car is playing up this morning though

It's acting as if it's starved of fuel at low revs plus throttle response doesn't seem as quick when you blip the throttle

Will see if I can pop it in to the garage for a quick diags.

Michael

PS. also got my new camcorder and in car mount so need to film the convoy!!

this message aimed at mclark in particular,

but is your carbon exhaust acutally any louder than standard? Just interested as I'm about to try something similar and might not bother if it isn't any louder.

It has a slightly deeper note to it now, but will be having the rear silencer box removed very soon so I hope it will get deeper still.

I've heard the effect of doing that is very dramatic! To the point that some say it's too loud. Sounds about right to me!

Hello everbody, as you can see I am a mere munchkin at this, so please be gentle.

Have there been any further developments on the best way to go with mods to the Sag exhaust?confused
I had some larger cans made by Hayward & Scott, but they are completely hollow & don't increase volume frown, just make it more boomey, especially at 70mph. Look better though, I think.

the original cans as shown on this sagaris were sleeved apparently
but to make it real loud have the backbox taken off or have the backbox cut open cloud9

Thanks for the reply, have emailed Power for details on replacement pipes. I may also put a perforated pipe surrounded by sound insulation inside my cans if things are just too loud. was your car unbearably loud for long journeys? have you experienced any loss or increase of power or torque due to loss of back pressure?
ps have put a photo on my profile

i take it you were at chatsworth a while ago then lol
there were only 2 sets of these replacement pipes made
well we got nearly 10 more bhp then a 56 plate sag on the rr at power
well the car is very loud and noisey at 4k rpm
here is a vid of it on the rr
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uR6WeiHEsOo
but if you love lots of popping and banging on the overrun then these pipes are a must
btw its still got the cats in

Well spotted, did attend Chatsworth.
Intend to leave cats in to save hassle with mot.
Power havn't yet replied about replacement pipes, you say only 2 sets made, does this mean they won't be prepared to make any more?
Did you get more torque than 56 Sag as well as more power?
