Picked it up today. My face hurts. Grin-grin-grin..... Never thought I'd get a TVR but dammit, here I am.
What a blast - and this is without exceeding 3000 revs! 300 miles down, only 700 to go.
The guys at Racing Green were great, so a big recommendation to them all. Even John, who took my money
BTW They also use 24psi in the tyres all round. What do I know? but it felt right to me.
Gonna read the manual now, as I can't play with the car anymore.
PS Had to celebrate with a bottle of bubbly tonight. Sad but true.

I'm hoping Fancy plates will come up with some 'show' plates which show T40ORA very well.
Careful? I'm being careful, but at this stage I'm more damned concerned about doing everything right to run the engine in properly. Staring to get used to it, so the 3000 limite is even more frustrating.
But I am succeeding. Now all I have to do is figure how to get the d*mn roof panel in the boot! The one I tried at Racing Green fit absolutely fine. Mine is like putting a round peg in a square hole; it ain't going. A bit of gentle tustling is on the cards for this afternoon....(apparently with a bin liner as an aide?!)

Yes, saw your plate and it looks good. So yes, something like that.
Looked at the thread for the roof, but it isn't a problem with the opening of the boot (at least I don't think it is) but twisting the panel in. My wife was helping, so was holding the boot open - but I couldn't get the angle and twist right.
Called Martin at Racing Green, but it's a little difficult getting telephone support for a problem like this! The best advice he gave was"Don't force it and bugger something up! Wait until you come in!". Oh, and the bin liner...
So I'll give it a gentle go.
BTW How's this for sod's law; first drive and a bloody great stone takes a chip out of the windscreen. Could have been much worse I know, could have taken a chumk out of the bonnet. But the first drive? Come on...

Well done Lee, another new Tam on the road, they'll become too popular a sight on the roads at this rate! 
The roof is a pain to put in the boot, even with the boot lid mod, but after a while, you get to learn the 'knack', and soon you'll be sliding it into that small space without giving it a second thought! One thing though, it may be wise to buy a panel bag (if you haven't already got one), as, after a few times of putting the roof in the boot, the material does catch on some part of the boot, and it starts to wear/frey (Sp?), usually on the front corner of the roof, so pay perticular attention to that when putting it in the boot.
Edited to add, yes, Fancy Plates will sort you out some cool plates for your registration (very cool reg!), I wouldn't use anyone else!

Thanks Chris. Got it in with the plastice bag trick; popped panel in one, and had one in cut out it boot. Had to push lid way up and open, so I guess that I do need the mod after all (cheers maddog).
Have to study the pictures cos I couldn't see how it worked!!
Anyway, jst had my first little sortie out with the roof off. Dammit, it just gets better and better.
Must be common as muck those Tams no. Noone else in their right mind would get one, and be another sheep......

and a fantastic choice also i must say! you certainly won't regret buying a Tam! some may not be too keen on the way it looks but i love it! one of my personal favourite tivs!
what colour is your Tam? got any pics to show off?!
have fun and take it easy on the loud pedal until you are fully accustomed with the cars (significant!) performance capabilities!

Yesterday went karting and had a fantastic drive up in the drive. Forgotten how good the car was to drive because I have not had a chance to put some well down owing to the damp roads! It was truly fantastic!
Be carefull until its fully run in, I though the rev limits were lower, until 3000 miles, but may be I have just forgotten! I am fast approach 12k to be honest its the smiles per mile I have ever had!!

Only got mine two weeks ago. The weathers been truely rubbish since, so not had to chance to drive it all that much. Just like you though, completely blown away by the car. Awesome. And incredibly rare. And beautiful. And that noise (and that's coming from a Chim!).

Glad to join the exclusive club. Mine is Reflex Charcoal with 18" anthracite rims, forest green and stone hide interior. I can't say just how good I think it looks.
But maybe I'm biased.
Got my first little problems - but who cares?! They'll be sorted. Looking forward to 700 miles over Easter, a good polish and 1000 mile service.
Yeah, the rev thing is right; John and Martin at Racing Green were very specific about it. 2500 when cold, no more than 3000 for 1000 miles, then 3500 for the next 500 miles, 4000 for the next 500 then ease it up through the rev range. Any comments that I should be more cautious are very welcome. I'm happy to bide my time if it means long term happy driving.

The next step is the sports exhausts - yesterday evening was my first drive with the top down after TVR Power fitted them (great bunch of guys, highly recommended) - what a difference to the soundtrack. Even more reason to leave the front of the radio/CD at home!
