European trips
Discussion
I am planning a European driving trip this summer down to Northern Italy (lakes) and then up through Swiss/Austrian alps. If anyone has any research documents/route plans/other info re accomodation etc that they have compiled from previous trips it would be much appreciated if you could send over by email.
Haven't done it before so everything from driving regs to best routes and fuel cost etc is a complete unknown!
Let me know if anyone can help! Cheers...

Did that in mine not long after I got it in summer 2004. Great fun.
One area often overlooked for road trips is the Dolomites. We stayed in a great place in a town called Arraba. Some fantastic roads all around. One a previous trip we stayed on the Western shore of Lake Maggiore, a bit less built up than around Lake Como.
All Alpine passes are great - avoid the tunnel, take the road instead every time
I don't have any specific route planning docs, surely half the fun is planning the route once you've worked out the sights you want to see?
We're planning a trip around some German castles in late July if anyone has suggestions of any to visit BTW.
