Is there a way of disabling the beeps that happen when you switch the ignition off and remove the key. Or is this a warning???

I dont remember it doing it before I had the 12,000 mile service recently.

Are you sure it's not the Pioneer stereo letting you know you haven't removed the faceplate?

You can turn the beeps off using the settings on the unit.
If you haven't got the manual let me know and I'll e-mail you the instructions.
Cheers.... Andrew

The car beep is a warning. You can turn down the beep volume in the setup menu, but then you might miss someting like the lights being on. It will also turn down the volume for the indicators beep.

Could be the stereo, though.

ME too, read the manual about the stereo but did not find the beeps mentioned. What a wind up

Yep,

Most pioneer stereo's beep when the ignition is turned off. It is so you don't forget to take off the front. Think some Sony units do it as well, had one in my VR6 that did this.

My Sony one used to do it, but not the Pioneer one in the Tam.

Maybe it's an option to turn the beep off on the Pioneer.

Yes it is the radio. Its a Pioneer and the good news is I have the manual, further good news it refers to the alarm warning beeps if you dont remove the facia in 5 seconds, the bad news is it says push Function button until 'warn' displayed and then set to off but there is no Warn when I cycle through the Function menu.
I am missing something?

Told ya!

Just remove the facia! It's only one button - think of the grief it'll save you....
